Is taco bar hire right for your event?

A taco bar and a truck serve the same food in different ways. From the truck, we put each order together; at the bar, guests build their own. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Why book with us

  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • A menu built around your guests

About our taco bar hire in Hyde Park Estate

A taco bar suits mixed diets well, as fillings and toppings are kept in separate dishes. We plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free choices, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests, plus allergen information for every dish. For family get-togethers and company parties, we can serve pickled onions and toppings, fresh salsas and slow-cooked fillings kept hot.

In Hyde Park Estate, all a taco bar needs is room for the station and space for guests to queue. Tell us where we can stop to unload, and about stairs, lifts or narrow doors. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

For event organisers in Hyde Park Estate

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so everyone is served promptly. Let us know how long the break is.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Where the truck can go in Hyde Park Estate

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but there are a few things to check:

  • Space for a serving table on level ground
  • A parking or loading spot near the serving area
  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in

In Hyde Park Estate, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

Menu ideas

  • Tortilla chips
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Two to four fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Corn and flour tortillas

Diets, allergies and planning

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Decide where the table goes before the day
  • Send us allergy details in writing
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Tell us how many children are coming

We arrive with time to unload and set the bar up before guests eat.

Ask us about plates, napkins and cutlery and we’ll confirm what’s possible in your quote.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Common questions in Hyde Park Estate

Our venue in Hyde Park Estate has no vehicle access: can we still have a taco bar?

Yes, with the venue’s agreement: our staff set up the station where your guests are. We still need to park and unload nearby, so tell us about loading bays, permits or a parking suspension.

Is it possible to have you in Hyde Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

We confirm that with your quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables and we will talk it through.

Is a taco bar right for a wedding?

The taco bar can be the wedding breakfast, the evening food or both. Timings are agreed with you and your venue, and guests build their own plates.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Our truck and trailer service usually suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we’ll advise.

When should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates go first, so it pays to ask early.

Can the taco bar cater for special diets?

Fillings and toppings sit in separate dishes, which helps with mixed diets, but we can’t promise an allergen-free kitchen. Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

What does taco bar hire cost?

Every event is quoted individually, so the price fits what you want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we will reply with a quote.

How it works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. Around midsummer it stays light in Hyde Park Estate until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Start with your date, venue and guest numbers.
  2. We plan the fillings, salsas and toppings with you.
  3. The venue confirms where the bar goes and where we park.
  4. On the day, guests help themselves while we keep the bar stocked.
  5. We clear the bar away after service.

Preparing for the day

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
