How our taco bar hire works in Medmenham

We run the taco bar ourselves: keeping the fillings hot, warming tortillas and topping up the bowls. Nobody from your side needs to lift a spoon. Popular choices include fresh salsas, burrito bowls and pickled onions and toppings, and it is a good fit for back-garden gatherings and engagement and anniversary parties.

In a hamlet or village like Medmenham, a barn or marquee can shelter a taco bar from the weather. Our staff set up the station and run it through service. Your quote sets out what’s included: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Medmenham questions

Do you come to events in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

Which station is closest to Medmenham?

Henley-On-Thames station, about 2.9 miles south-west of the centre.

How long are you on site?

That depends on your event and menu. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you to suit your day.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

What’s on the menu?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

Is the food suitable for children?

Of course. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

Is a taco bar suitable for a big group?

Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we’ll plan the bar around them.

Can you set up where a truck cannot get in?

The bar can stand on its own, away from the truck or trailer. We still need to park our vehicle nearby to unload, and the venue’s agreement.

What we need at the venue

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • Room for the bar alongside the vehicle, if booked together
  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book
  • The venue’s or landowner’s agreement

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.

Menu ideas

  • Tortilla chips
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Vegan fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings

Step by step

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. Winter evenings in Medmenham close in by about 3:55pm, so set the station up where the lighting is good. In late June, the light holds until around 9:25pm.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we choose what goes on the bar.
  3. We confirm the table spot and where we will unload.
  4. Our staff set out the bar and guests build their own tacos.
  5. We clear the bar away after service.

How to prepare

  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain

Around Medmenham, historic houses include Harleyford Manor (1.3 miles east) and Greenlands (2 miles west). Historic venues often limit where vehicles can go, so ask whether a taco bar station could be set up inside while our food truck or trailer parks further off. If you are celebrating after a service at a church like Church of St Peter and St Paul, a hall close by could host a staffed taco bar, with the venue’s permission. Venues in and around the Chilterns National Landscape, within about 8 miles of Medmenham, sometimes have strict rules about catering and vehicles. Check with yours where a taco bar station and our truck or trailer could go.

What taco bar hire costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Serving staff
  • Food, drinks or both
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Parking and the route in

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, because it needs no venue kitchen. Contact us for a quote to compare.
