Taco bar hire in Newtown

About our taco bar hire in Newtown

Truck and trailer bookings typically suit around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Share your headcount and we will size the taco bar to match. On the menu are burrito bowls, warm corn and flour tortillas and pickled onions and toppings, which works well for garden parties and marquee parties.

Near Newtown, a taco bar next to the truck in a field or garden works well. Tell us about gates, ground and the distance from the lane, and we’ll confirm power and water with you. You’ll know what’s included before booking: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

Questions from Newtown

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of the Holy Trinity?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

What’s the nearest station to Newtown for guests?

Guests can use Portchester station, about 4.4 miles south of Newtown.

Can you keep it mild?

That’s your choice: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Can we have a taco bar at our wedding?

A taco bar works well for a relaxed wedding breakfast. Service is timed around speeches and photos. Read our taco bar guide for ideas.

Do you stay to run the taco bar?

We set up and stay to keep the bar hot and stocked through service.

How much space do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

What do you need at the venue?

Tell us about the venue and the spot you have in mind, and we will confirm what’s needed. The venue’s agreement is needed too.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food. For alcohol, we’ll talk licensing through with you and your venue.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

How the day works

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we have agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. In Newtown, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we choose what goes on the bar.
  3. We confirm the table spot and where we’ll unload.
  4. Our staff set out the bar and guests build their own tacos.
  5. When everyone has eaten, we pack up.

Getting ready for the day

  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day

Perfect for your event in Newtown

Guests choose exactly what goes on their plate, which cuts down on special orders.

A truck or trailer suits almost any gathering. People in Newtown can book us for events such as:

  • Leaving and retirement parties
  • Anniversary parties
  • Company parties
  • Back-garden gatherings

When the service is at a church such as Church of the Holy Trinity, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.

Questions to ask before booking

  • How long the service runs
  • If the price includes VAT
  • How bad weather is handled
  • What the price includes, item by item

Choosing a Mexican caterer

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

A sandwich platter is easy to order but rarely remembered. Warm tortillas and hot fillings give a lunch more to talk about. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Why us?

  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer

Read our prices page and our guide to catering costs.

About the menu

Guacamole

Guacamole goes quickly on a taco bar, so we keep it topped up.

Hot fillings

You might choose two or three fillings, with at least one vegan. We agree them with you.

Planning for every diet

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Confirm a loading spot close to the bar
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Decide where the table goes before the day
  • Include a vegan filling on the bar

Dishes are labelled, with allergen information available at the table.

Nachos to share can keep guests going before the bar opens.

What we need at the venue

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours when you contact us. In general, we need:

  • Room for guests to queue along the table
  • Details of power and water near the bar
  • A level area for the taco-bar table

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before booking.
