How our taco bar hire works in Northam
Our staff set up the taco bar and look after it through service: keeping the fillings hot, warming tortillas and topping up the bowls. Your hosts can stay with their guests. Popular choices include fresh salsas, a build-your-own taco bar and pickled onions and toppings, and it is a good fit for retirement parties and wedding evening food.
Around Northam, a taco bar can stand beside our truck on a drive or lawn. If the truck cannot reach the garden, we park as close as we can and set the station up where your guests are. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so set-up goes smoothly.

DIY taco night or a caterer?
A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.
Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.
Planners, venues and businesses
For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so guests are looked after quickly. Let us know how long the break is.
Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Northam? Service from a truck or trailer is quick, even for a crowd, and the menu can suit most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.
Planning for every diet
Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:
- Fit the bar into your running order
- Decide where the table goes before the day
- Confirm any allergies to us by email
- Have anyone with a severe allergy speak to us first
We warm tortillas in batches and keep the fillings hot, so the bar stays fresh from the first plate to the last.

When the service is at a church such as Church of St Augustine, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. Northam is within about 8 miles of the New Forest National Park, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles cannot reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by. Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Your quote confirms the full price.

Common questions in Northam
Can you serve near the sea around Northam?
We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades normally need the council’s agreement, so check that first.
Could you serve in East Park?
Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.
Is there a minimum number of guests?
Our truck and trailer service usually suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Send us your numbers and we will advise.
Can guests build their own tacos?
Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Let us know your numbers and space and we will suggest the best set-up.
Can you do gluten-free food?
Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we check every dish and give allergen information.
What happens if it rains?
We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.
Can you plan for allergies?
Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.
Can you come to a private house?
Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.
How the day works
Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. Around midsummer it stays light in Northam until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 4:00pm, plan good lighting over the station.
