Taco bar hire in Sheet, served fresh

We run the taco bar ourselves: warming tortillas, keeping fillings hot and refilling the salsas as they go. Your hosts can stay with their guests. For marquee parties and team lunches, we will put together a menu of burrito bowls, fresh salsas and slow-cooked fillings kept hot and more.

Near Sheet, a marquee or barn makes a good home for a taco bar. We set up the station and our team runs it. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

Step by step

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. A December taco bar in Sheet will be in the dark from about 4:00pm, so set the station up where the lighting is good. In late June, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. Tell us about your event and your guests.
  2. We send a sample spread and a quote.
  3. Access, power and water are agreed beforehand.
  4. We set up the station and keep everything hot.
  5. At the end, we take everything away.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Working with your venue

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Choosing a Mexican caterer

What we need at the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but a few things matter:

  • Permission from the venue for us to set up
  • Shelter from rain and sun for an outdoor bar
  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

What we offer

  • Two to four fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Tortilla chips
  • Vegan fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas

What taco bar hire costs

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • The length of service
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Staff for serving and the bar

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Ask us for a quote.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The venue or postcode
  • Roughly how many adults and children

The quickest way to a quote is to tell us about it on our contact page. Tell us about your event in Sheet, and we will suggest a menu to suit.

Sheet questions

How far is Sheet from central London?

It is about 49 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Mary Magdalene: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

How does taco bar hire work?

Each guest builds tacos from the fillings, salsas and toppings laid out. We run the bar from set-up to pack-down.

How big an event can you cater?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

What food and drinks do you offer?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar.

Can you plan for allergies?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, with allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we cannot promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

Is the food very hot?

It’s up to you: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately.

What access do you need?

The main things are access and a level spot: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. Send us a picture and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.
