Taco bar hire in Southwark, served fresh

Toppings make the bar: pickled onions, coriander, lime, shredded lettuce and cheese, depending on the menu you choose. At team socials and evening receptions, we can serve burrito bowls, fresh salsas and warm corn and flour tortillas for your guests.

From an office courtyard to a hired room, a taco bar in Southwark needs space for a table and a queue. Let us know about the loading point and any stairs, lifts or narrow doorways, as London parking takes planning. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

How the day works

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. From late May to late September, sunset in Southwark moves from about 8:50pm to 7:05pm. Let us know if an outdoor station will run after dark, and we’ll talk about lighting.

  1. Start with your date, venue and guest numbers.
  2. We plan the fillings, salsas and toppings with you.
  3. The venue confirms where the bar goes and where we park.
  4. Our staff set out the bar and guests build their own tacos.
  5. When everyone has eaten, we pack up.

Before we arrive

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Ask the venue about power and water

How we price taco bar hire

Contact us for a quote, which reflects:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • How many staff you need
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Distance and access to the venue

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What we need to know

To speed things up, tell us:

  • What power and water the site has
  • The date and rough timings
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • What you’d like on the menu

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.

Common questions in Southwark

Which station should guests use for Southwark?

Guests can use Elephant & Castle station, about 0.5 miles south of Southwark.

Can you set up a taco bar where your truck cannot park in Southwark?

Yes, with the venue’s agreement: our staff set up the station where your guests are. We still need to park and unload nearby, so tell us about loading bays, permits or a parking suspension.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

Yes. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from.

What does a taco bar cost?

There’s no price list, because no two events are the same. Share your plans and you’ll get a quote. See what Mexican catering costs for background.

Can you serve in the rain?

Rain does not typically stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. We’ll check the licensing for alcohol with you.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes, children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

A closer look at the menu

Toppings

Toppings let guests finish their tacos their way, and dairy-free choices are kept apart.

Hot fillings

Slow-cooked fillings kept hot on the bar, perhaps chicken tinga, birria or carnitas.

Organising for someone else?

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

Events in public spaces, like parks, normally need permission. We will provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Before you choose a spot

We will agree the spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Easy access from where we unload to the table
  • Details of power and water near the bar
  • A parking or loading spot near the serving area

As a London location, Southwark is inside the ULEZ, and parking and loading take planning: let us know about permits, bays, off-street space or a parking suspension.

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before you book.
