About our taco bar hire in Spitalfields

We run the taco bar ourselves: warming tortillas, keeping fillings hot and refilling the salsas as they go. Nobody from your side needs to lift a spoon. It works well for team socials and evening wedding receptions, with fresh salsas, burrito bowls and pickled onions and toppings.

In Spitalfields, a hired hall, a courtyard or a garden without drive access can still host a taco bar. The station can go where the truck cannot, as long as the venue agrees, and the route from our parking spot to the station needs to be clear. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, and we give allergen information for every dish.

Catering for every guest

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Fit the bar into your running order
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email
  • Count children separately
  • Include a dietary question on your invitations

If the schedule slips, tell us and we will hold everything hot until you are ready.

Ask us about plates, napkins and cutlery and we’ll confirm what’s possible in your quote.

What we need at the venue

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • Somewhere close by for our vehicle to park and unload
  • A sheltered spot if we’re serving outside
  • A level area for the taco-bar table

In Spitalfields, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we offer

  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Two to four fillings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Tortilla chips

Taco bar hire in Spitalfields: local tips

Spitalfields is about 1 mile north-east of London, in Greater London. Whether your event is in the middle of Spitalfields or on the outskirts, we offer the same service: fresh service from our food truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. We cater in 764 places across Greater London, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in.

With the A10 and A1202 nearby, getting the taco bar to Spitalfields is simple for us. Before you plan a taco bar in Finsbury Circus, find out who manages it, as catering and unloading there both need their agreement.

Anywhere in E1, EC2A and E1W, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests. Local streets include New Road, Mark Lane and Bell Lane; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. You’ll find Spitalfields on the A10 and A1202, which makes it straightforward to bring the truck or trailer. If your venue is just outside Spitalfields, we also cover Whitechapel (1 mile east), Aldgate (1 mile south-west), Bishopsgate (1 mile west), Tower Hill (1 mile south) and Shoreditch (1 mile north). We also cater in nearby towns such as City of Westminster (3 miles west), Marylebone (3 miles west), Kensington (6 miles west), Walthamstow (5 miles north-east), Hampstead (5 miles north-west) and Ruislip (15 miles west).

Other landmarks nearby include Tower of London (0.6 miles south) and Museum of Transology (within half a mile north-west). Green spaces nearby include Tower Hill and Lavender Pond.

  • Local schools include Canon Barnett Primary School (less than half a mile east) and London Enterprise Academy (0.5 miles east)
  • Nearby, you will find Kings Stores pub (under half a mile north-west)
  • Parks and local facilities nearby include Bishopsgate Institute Special Collections and Archives (less than half a mile north-west) and Minories (under half a mile south)

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • The number of people
  • The length of service
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Parking and the route in

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

What we need to know

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • What you’d like on the menu

Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will suggest a menu. When you are ready, tell us about it on our contact page.

How it works

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we’ll help you choose a spot with room for a queue. Rain does not usually stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. A December taco bar in Spitalfields will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so set the station up where the lighting is good. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Get in touch with your date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. We fix timings with you and the venue.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.

Preparing for the day

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

How to get a price

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you’re ready, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Who books taco bar hire in Spitalfields?

The bar becomes a meeting point: guests compare fillings and swap topping ideas as they go.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Garden parties
  • Wedding evening food
  • Wedding meals
  • Office lunches

If your garden is hard to reach, a hired hall or club around Spitalfields could take the taco bar instead.

Before booking anyone

  • Exactly what’s included in the price
  • VAT, if it applies
  • What the caterer needs from your venue
  • Plates and napkins, or nothing at all

How to compare caterers

How it compares

A taco bar and a truck serve the same food in different ways. From the truck, we put each order together; at the bar, guests build their own. Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Spitalfields questions

Can you cater a reception after a service at Christ Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

What about parking in Spitalfields?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

What’s on the menu?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will talk licensing through with you.

What do you need at the venue?

A level spot for the serving table, room to queue and somewhere close to unload our vehicle. We confirm power and water when you book.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

How long do you serve for?

It depends on your event. Timings are agreed in advance so everything fits your schedule.

Do you cook on site?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
