Taco bar hire near Stanmore

About our taco bar hire in Stanmore

The bar can stand beside our food truck or trailer, or on its own. Where a vehicle can’t reach the serving spot, we unload nearby and set the table up there, as long as the venue agrees. At team lunches and wedding day food, we can serve guacamole, a build-your-own taco bar and fresh salsas for your guests.

For a place the size of Stanmore, a garden or a hall nearby can suit a taco bar. We set up and run the station, and guests choose their own fillings and toppings. Tell us where we can park and unload. We cater for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests, with allergen information for everything we serve.

Stanmore questions

Can you bring your truck or trailer to St. Cross Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide what they ask for from us.

What’s the nearest station to Stanmore for guests?

Guests can use Winchester station, about 1.2 miles north-east of Stanmore.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

What does a taco bar cost?

There’s no price list, because no two events are the same. Share your plans and you’ll get a quote. Our guide to Mexican catering costs may help.

Is a taco bar good for vegans and gluten-free guests?

Fillings and toppings sit in separate dishes, which helps with mixed diets, but we can’t promise an allergen-free kitchen. Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Is a taco bar suitable for a big group?

Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we’ll plan the bar around them.

Can guests build tacos at a wedding breakfast?

It can serve the wedding meal, the evening or both. We agree the timings with your venue.

What do you need at the venue?

The main things are access and a level spot: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. Send us a picture and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Before you choose a spot

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • A level area for the taco-bar table
  • A sheltered spot if we are serving outside

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

What we offer

  • Tortilla chips
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas

How the day works

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can spend time with your guests. In Stanmore, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 4:00pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Send us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan the fillings, salsas and toppings with you.
  3. The venue confirms where the bar goes and where we park.
  4. On the day, guests help themselves while we keep the bar stocked.
  5. We clear the bar away after service.

How to prepare

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Share the running order, including any speeches

Getting a price

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.
