Taco bar hire in Wichling

How it compares

The difference between a taco bar and truck service is who builds the taco. From the truck, we put each order together; at the bar, guests build their own. There is no one-size-fits-all price for taco bar hire. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

What you get with us

  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • A menu built around your guests
  • A truck or trailer that comes to you

Taco bar hire in Wichling, served fresh

A taco bar suits mixed diets well, because every filling and topping sits in its own dish. We plan gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan choices, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. Popular choices include warm corn and flour tortillas, pickled onions and toppings and slow-cooked fillings kept hot, and it suits family celebrations and evening receptions.

Somewhere as small as Wichling, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If lanes or soft ground stop the truck getting close, the station can be set up nearer your guests, though we still need to unload within a short walk. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Space, access and the venue

If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you, and help find another spot. The main points are:

  • A clear route from the vehicle to the serving spot
  • A sheltered spot if we’re serving outside
  • The venue’s agreement for the taco bar and our vehicle

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we offer

  • Two to four fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Tortilla chips
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Vegan fillings

Organising for someone else?

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so guests are looked after quickly. Let us know how long the break is.

Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we’ll let you know if it’s a good fit.

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Parking and the route in
  • Whether you need disposables
  • How many guests we are serving
  • Timings and hours

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Ask us for a quote.

What to tell us

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The date and rough timings
  • What power and water the site has

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you are ready, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

How it works

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. Around midsummer it stays light in Wichling until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:50pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. We suggest fillings, salsas and toppings for the bar and send a quote.
  3. Before the day, we confirm the serving spot, unloading, power and water with the venue.
  4. On the day our staff lay out the bar and keep it stocked while guests build their tacos.
  5. When service finishes, we clear the table and pack the vehicle.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site

Wichling questions

How far is Wichling from London?

It’s about 40 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Do you cater in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and catering, so check with yours. We’ll follow the site rules.

What if a vehicle can’t reach the serving spot?

The taco bar can sit next to the truck or trailer, or in a spot of its own. Either way, we need to unload nearby and have the venue’s permission.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies and we’ll talk it through.

Can the taco bar cater for special diets?

There are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan choices, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. Allergen information is available for every dish.

Can you do gluten-free food?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Can you serve in the rain?

Rain doesn’t normally stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

How much is a taco bar?

We quote for each taco bar, depending on guests, menu, venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

What’s on the menu

Salsas

Fresh salsas, from a mild tomato salsa to something hotter.

Vegan fillings

Vegan guests get a proper filling of their own, not an afterthought.

Diets, allergies and planning

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Check where our vehicle can unload
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Put guests with serious allergies in touch with us early

Fillings are kept hot and tortillas warmed in batches.

Book the truck or trailer for evening food after a daytime taco bar, quoted with the rest.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
