Taco bar hire in Widley, served fresh

Our taco bar travels to events across Widley and the surrounding area: marquees, barns, gardens, halls and workplaces, wherever there’s room for the table. Near Widley, a marquee or barn makes a good home for a taco bar. Our staff set up the station and run it through service; tell us about access and parking. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Your questions about taco bar hire in Widley

How far is Widley from London?

It is about 61 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Could you set up a taco bar in a hall near Widley?

We can, as long as the venue agrees. The station needs room for a queue, and we need to park and unload close to the door.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Are plates and napkins included?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.

How much is a taco bar?

We quote for each taco bar, based on numbers, fillings, the venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Our truck and trailer service normally suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Tell us your numbers.

What if the weather’s bad?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, like a marquee or gazebo.

How spicy is the food?

We can keep it mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Space, access and the venue

Every venue is different, so we’ll ask about yours when you get in touch. In general, we need:

  • The venue’s agreement for the taco bar and our vehicle
  • Space for a line of guests at the bar
  • Shelter from rain and sun for an outdoor bar

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

On the menu in Widley

  • Two to four fillings
  • Tortilla chips
  • Vegan fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Corn and flour tortillas

Prices and what affects them

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • The length of service
  • Serving staff
  • The number of people
  • Whether you need disposables

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What to tell us

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both

Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll make suggestions. To start, tell us about it on our contact page.

Events we cater in Widley

Guests on special diets don’t need a separate meal.

In Widley and nearby, we can cater all sorts of events. Some of the most common are:

  • Engagement and anniversary parties
  • Garden parties
  • Marquee parties
  • Evening receptions

If you are celebrating after a service at a church like Christ Church, a hall close by could host a staffed taco bar, with the venue’s permission.

What your quote should include

  • When payment is due
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • A food hygiene rating you can check
  • How many staff are serving, and for how long

Choosing a Mexican caterer

How the day works

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. Around midsummer it stays light in Widley until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 4:00pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Send us your date, where the taco bar will go, numbers and dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. When service finishes, we clear the table and pack the vehicle.

Before we arrive

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

Planning help

Working with your venue

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

Catering for every guest

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Ensure guests have somewhere to sit
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Put allergies in writing for us

If speeches or timings run over, we keep the fillings hot and start when you’re ready.

Tell us if you need plates and cutlery and we’ll confirm what’s possible in your quote.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

What’s on the menu

Guacamole

Freshly made guacamole with lime.

Warm tortillas

Tortillas are the base of the bar. We warm them as the bar needs them through service.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
