How our taco bar hire works in Wimbledon Park

Our taco bar travels to events across Wimbledon Park and the surrounding area: marquees, barns, gardens, halls and workplaces, wherever there’s room for the table. Popular choices include fresh salsas, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and guacamole, and it is a good fit for leaving dos and evening receptions.

In a London neighbourhood like Wimbledon Park, a taco bar is handy when the truck cannot reach the garden or the room. Our staff set up a serving station on a table, and guests build their own tacos. We still have to unload nearby, so let us know about loading, permits and parking. Like all of Greater London, Wimbledon Park is inside the ULEZ. We plan the timings around your day, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Planning a taco bar in Wimbledon Park

Wimbledon Park is about 1 mile north of Wimbledon, in Greater London. From the centre of Wimbledon Park to the outskirts, we offer the same service: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. We cover all 764 towns and villages across Greater London, from the larger towns to small villages. You can also see our page for London, about 7 miles away.

No room for the truck at home? A hall or club near Wimbledon Park with parking close by could host the taco bar. After a christening or wedding at a church such as Church of St Luke, a taco bar at a hall or garden nearby lets guests build their own tacos.

Anywhere in SW19 and SW18, we can bring taco bar hire to you, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Local streets include Dora Road, Church Road and Arthur Road; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. Wimbledon Park is on the A218, which makes it straightforward to bring the truck or trailer. If your venue is just outside Wimbledon Park, we also cover Wimbledon (1 mile south), Crooked Billet (1 mile south-west), Copse Hill (2 miles south-west), Merton Park (2 miles south) and Wimbledon Chase (2 miles south). Further out, we also cater in London (7 miles north-east), City of Westminster (6 miles north-east), Marylebone (6 miles north-east), Kensington (4 miles north), St Pancras (7 miles north-east) and Shoreditch (8 miles north-east).

Other landmarks nearby include Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum (within half a mile west) and Southside Wandsworth (1.4 miles north-east). The countryside around Wimbledon Park includes Battersea Park Lake and Wandle Meadow Nature Park.

  • Local schools include Ricards Lodge High School (0.5 miles south) and Linden Lodge School (0.6 miles north-west)
  • Pubs nearby include Leather Bottle pub (0.9 miles east)
  • Parks and local facilities nearby include Coombe (2.6 miles west)

How we price taco bar hire

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • The number of people
  • Timings and hours
  • Serving staff

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Getting an accurate quote

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both

Each quote is tailored to your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will confirm whether we are available that day.

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Choose at least one vegan filling
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Make sure guests have somewhere to sit

After the last plate, we take the bar down and leave the spot tidy.

Book the truck or trailer for evening food after a daytime taco bar, quoted with the rest.

Where the truck can go in Wimbledon Park

Before the day, we will agree where we park and serve. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • A flat spot for the taco-bar station
  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in
  • Cover overhead if the bar is outdoors

London streets around Wimbledon Park can be narrow and busy, and all of Greater London sits inside the ULEZ. Tell us about loading, permits and any parking suspension when you enquire.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before you book.

Popular choices

  • Tortilla chips
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Two to four fillings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Corn and flour tortillas

Organising for someone else?

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so everyone is served promptly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

The process

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. Evenings in Wimbledon Park stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm. Once it gets dark, guests need to see what they’re adding to their tacos.

  1. Share a few details about the event.
  2. We send a sample spread and a quote.
  3. Access, power and water are agreed beforehand.
  4. We set up the station and keep everything hot.
  5. At the end, we take everything away.

How to prepare

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

How to get a price

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, fill in our quote form.

Your questions about taco bar hire in Wimbledon Park

Could the taco bar go somewhere in Wimbledon Park that the truck cannot reach?

Yes, with the venue’s agreement: our staff set up the station where your guests are. We still need somewhere close by to unload, and in London that may mean a loading bay or a parking suspension.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to King George's Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

What do you need at the venue?

The main things are access and a level spot: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Is the food suitable for children?

Of course. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

Do you stay to run the taco bar?

The taco bar is served from a table or station by our staff, so your hosts don’t need to. We pack it away afterwards.

What food and drinks do you offer?

Mexican street food: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. A drinks bar is available too, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Can you keep it mild?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

DIY taco night or a caterer?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.
