Taco bar hire in Winklebury, from our food truck or trailer

For a bigger spread, burrito bowls, nachos or quesadillas can sit alongside the tacos. Margaritas and aguas frescas from our drinks bar can be added, with licensing checked with you. For working lunches and christenings and family parties, we can serve warm corn and flour tortillas, pickled onions and toppings and burrito bowls and more.

In a smaller place like Winklebury, a taco bar in your garden or a local hall keeps things simple. Our staff set up the station and guests build their own tacos. Let us know about the drive and parking. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Space, access and the venue

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but a few things matter:

  • A spot next to the truck or trailer when both are booked
  • Cover overhead if the bar is outdoors
  • Permission from the venue for us to set up

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before booking.

Popular choices

  • Vegan fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Tortilla chips
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings

How it works

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we will help you choose a spot with room for a queue. Rain does not typically stop us serving, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. Winter evenings in Winklebury close in by about 4:00pm, so set the station up where the lighting is good. In late June, the light holds until around 9:25pm.

  1. Start with the essentials: the date, venue, headcount and diets.
  2. We suggest fillings, salsas and toppings for the bar and send a quote.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. On the day our staff lay out the bar and keep it stocked while guests build their tacos.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

How to prepare

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

Pizza is the usual crowd-pleaser, but a taco bar gives guests more say over what they eat. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Why us?

  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer

About the menu

Vegan fillings

Spiced mushroom, or black bean and sweet potato, cooked separately.

Toppings

The toppings are where guests make each taco their own, and dairy-free choices are kept apart.

Prices and what affects them

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Whether you need disposables
  • The length of service
  • What’s on the menu
  • Food, drinks or both

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

Details that help

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Expected numbers
  • Your menu ideas
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Where the event is

Not sure what you need yet? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we will suggest a menu. To start, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Diets, allergies and planning

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Collect dietary needs with your replies
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Decide where the table goes before the day
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to contact us before the day

We get there early enough to unload, lay out the table and heat everything through.

For larger groups, ask about a second serving point.

Questions from Winklebury

Which station should guests use for Winklebury?

The closest is Basingstoke station, roughly 1.5 miles away.

We are having a ceremony at The Good Shepherd: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Is the food very hot?

It’s up to you: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Do you have dairy-free options?

Yes, we can. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we’ll include them in the plan.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Do you stay to run the taco bar?

Our staff set up the bar, keep the fillings hot and top up the dishes through service.

Do you take everything away?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we will talk it through.

How big an event can you cater?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.
