Wedding Mexican catering in Appley, served fresh

Wedding taco bars feel relaxed, generous and a little different. Everyone fills their own tortillas from the fillings, salsas and toppings, and the queue turns into part of the fun. At weddings with lots of dietary needs and engagement celebrations, we’ll put together a menu of burrito bowls, loaded nachos and a taco bar for the wedding breakfast for your guests.

In Appley, a local ceremony and a marquee reception is a personal choice. A food truck by the marquee suits that kind of day. Tell us about access to the field or garden. Your quote sets out what’s included: menu, timings and any add-ons.

Our caterer checklist

Space, access and the venue

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer
  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day

Appley is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we will plan the journey and access for the truck or trailer.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

What we offer

  • Nachos to share
  • Guacamole and salsas
  • Taco bar wedding breakfast
  • Margarita bar
  • Burritos and bowls
  • Evening tacos

Diets, allergies and planning

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Let us know about supplier meals
  • Tell us about guests with coeliac disease or severe allergies
  • Introduce us to your venue coordinator

We park where the venue agrees, ideally where guests can see us, which makes a good photo.

Quesadillas suit younger guests.

Should I do it myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

How the day works

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. In Appley, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:10pm, so evening tacos are usually served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it is dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. First, we check availability for your date.
  2. You choose the fillings, sides and extras.
  3. We confirm the plan with your venue.
  4. Guests build their tacos at the taco bar or order at the hatch.
  5. After serving, we clear away.

Before we arrive

  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

What affects the price in Appley

We quote for your event, which reflects:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • The number of people
  • How long we are needed on site
  • The menu you choose

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

  • The date and rough timings
  • What you’d like on the menu

We need only a few details to quote: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, send a quick message through our quote form.

Appley questions

How far is Appley from central London?

It’s about 70 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Which station should guests use for Appley?

The closest is Ryde St Johns Road station, roughly 0.5 miles away.

How is the food prepared?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Do you do parties at home?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we will include them in the plan.

Do you take everything away?

We clear our own area when service is finished. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

How many guests can you serve?

Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers.
