Food truck hire near Abingworth

How our food truck hire works in Abingworth

We serve when you want us to: a set lunch hour, an evening slot or a few hours through a party. Let us know your running order. It suits christenings and family parties and retirement parties, serving quesadillas, tacos from the hatch and burritos.

In a rural place like Abingworth, access is the main thing to plan for a hired truck: the gate, the ground and the distance from the lane. Power and water may be limited, so we confirm the arrangements before the day. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Is food truck hire right for your event?

Cooking yourself saves on catering but costs you the day. Hire the truck and the cooking is ours so you can join in. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why us?

  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue
  • We cover Abingworth and the whole of West Sussex

Take a look at our prices page or what Mexican catering costs.

Dietary needs and planning tips

With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:

  • Collect diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Ask the venue about catering vehicles before booking
  • Tell us about coeliac guests
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to speak to us beforehand

Allergen information is available at the hatch for every dish.

Tell us what serveware you need and we will confirm the options in your quote.

For event organisers in Abingworth

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can check the date.

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Food truck hire in Abingworth: local tips

Abingworth is about 8 miles north of Worthing, in West Sussex. Give us the address of your event in Abingworth, and we’ll plan access and set-up before the day. Abingworth is one of 371 towns and villages in West Sussex we cover. We cater right across the region, from Abingworth to Brighton (about 15 miles away).

Rail travellers will be glad to hear that Pulborough station is about 3.9 miles away. With the South Downs National Park within about 6 miles, a rural setting for your private or work event is within reach. Firm ground and a clear way in matter most for the truck or trailer.

Abingworth questions

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the South Downs National Park?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Do you come out to small places like Abingworth?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so contact us early.

How long do you serve for?

It depends on your event. Timings are agreed in advance to suit your day.

Which areas do you serve?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including Abingworth.

What does it cost to hire the truck?

Each hire is quoted individually, depending on numbers, menu, location and timings. For a price, tell us about it on our contact page.

Is private hire the same as trading at a festival?

A private hire is booked and quoted for you, and we do not sell to the public. Event organisers should see street food for festivals.

Can we add drinks?

The drinks bar comes with bar staff. Alcohol needs the right licence, which we’ll check with you.

The menu, item by item

Burritos

Rice, beans, a filling and salsa wrapped in a big tortilla.

Salsas and guacamole

Guacamole and a choice of salsas, freshly made.

How it works

Here’s how the day typically runs: we park up and get ready, service opens at the agreed time, and we serve your guests fresh for the agreed time. By late September, it’s dark in Abingworth at around 7:05pm, so evening service from the truck may run past dusk. In late May, daylight lasts until about 8:50pm.

  1. Check our availability for your date.
  2. You get a menu for the hatch and a quote.
  3. The spot and the way in are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, guests order at the hatch and we cook to order.
  5. After service, we close up and leave the spot clear.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

Planning help

Space, access and the venue

We’ll be honest if a space won’t work. What matters most:

  • A flat parking spot on firm ground or hardstanding
  • Power and water, confirmed with each booking
  • Room for guests to gather at the hatch

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before booking.

Popular choices

  • Mexican drinks bar
  • Tacos
  • Burritos
  • Quesadillas
  • Loaded nachos
  • Burrito bowls

How we price food truck hire

These are the factors that matter most:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Parking and the route in
  • What the venue already provides
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. Every event gets its own quote.

What to tell us

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field

It’s easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We’ll send you a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Should I do it myself?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
