Common questions in Brighton and Hove
We’re having a ceremony at Holy Cross Church: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
What’s the nearest station to Brighton and Hove for guests?
Aldrington station, in Brighton and Hove itself.
Can you cater for special diets?
We plan gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. Every dish has allergen information.
How is private hire different from festival trading?
When you hire us, the booking is yours, so we do not serve passers-by. Organisers wanting us to trade at their event can see our festival page.
Do you do food truck hire for weddings?
Wedding food from a truck feels relaxed and sociable. We will check access and timings with your venue.
Is there a minimum number of guests?
It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.
Do you provide drinks?
Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we’ll check the licensing with you.
Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect.
How it works
A typical event goes like this: we arrive and set up, we open the hatch when you are ready, and your guests are served fresh for the agreed time. A Christmas party in Brighton and Hove with a hired food truck will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so ask the venue about outdoor lighting where we will park. In late June, it stays light until about 9:20pm.
- Check our availability for your date.
- You get a menu for the hatch and a quote.
- We confirm the parking spot and the route in.
- On the day, guests order at the hatch and we cook to order.
- After service, we close up and leave the spot clear.
Getting ready for the day
- Tell us when you want service to start
- Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
- Give us a contact for the day

Is food truck hire right for your event?
Booking several street food trucks means juggling several suppliers. One truck with tacos, burritos and nachos is one booking to manage. Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

DIY taco night versus a caterer
A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.
Planning the serving area
We’ll be honest if a space won’t work, and help find another spot. What matters most:
- Agreement from the venue to bring in a catering vehicle
- Parking arrangements if we’re not on private land
- Somewhere for guests to sit or stand and eat
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

How we price food truck hire
Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:
- Timings and hours
- What’s on the menu
- Serving staff
- Plates, napkins and cutlery
The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. Every event gets its own quote.

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. Contact us for a quote: just tell us about it on our contact page.
