Book food truck hire in Brockley

Food truck hire for your event in Brockley

The truck or trailer is a working kitchen on wheels, so there is no need for kitchen space at the venue. We need a level spot, safe access and the venue’s permission. At winter staff parties and private outdoor parties, we can serve vegan tacos, loaded nachos and burritos.

Hiring a food truck in Brockley starts with where it can park. A courtyard, forecourt or drive can work, with permission, and some streets may need a parking suspension from the council. Like all of Greater London, Brockley is inside the ULEZ. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so set-up goes smoothly.

Brockley questions

Which station is closest to Brockley?

Guests can use Crofton Park station, which is right in Brockley.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Hilda: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you have dairy-free options?

Yes, we can. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we will include them in the plan.

How does private food truck hire work?

We bring our truck or trailer to your venue, park in the agreed spot and serve your guests from the hatch. It is a private booking for your guests only.

What’s on the menu?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings might include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we do. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.

Can you come to a private house?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.

How many guests can the truck serve?

Truck and trailer service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller gatherings are looked at case by case.

Space, access and the venue

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • Enough width and height on the route in
  • Parking arrangements if we are not on private land
  • Power and water, confirmed with each booking

As a London location, Brockley is inside the ULEZ, and parking and loading take planning: tell us about parking bays, permits, a driveway or whether a parking suspension is needed.

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

For planners, venues and organisers

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Ask about parking rules if we will be on a road
  • Collect diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Guests with serious allergies should contact us first
  • Tell us how many children are coming

Running late? Tell us.

Ask about a second service later in the evening, quoted with the main booking.

How it compares

Hog roasts are popular with meat eaters, but tacos and bowls make vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests easier to feed. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why us?

  • A menu built around your guests
  • Catering across Greater London, including Brockley
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • A truck or trailer that comes to you

Step by step

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. A hired food truck at a summer event in Brockley can serve in daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, and by late September sunset is about 7:05pm. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. First come the basics: date, location, numbers and diets.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we drive in, set up and serve to order from the hatch.
  5. Once guests are fed, we clear our area and head off.

Getting ready for the day

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Tell us when you want service to start

Getting a price

Still deciding on the menu? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will suggest a menu. When you’re ready, send us your details through our quote form.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Brockley: parking, access and venues

Brockley is about 1 mile south of New Cross, in Greater London. Whether your event is in the middle of Brockley or on the outskirts, food truck hire works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. We serve in all 764 towns and villages across Greater London.

When the service is at a church such as Church of St Hilda, the truck would serve at the reception venue rather than at the church. Parks such as Blythe Hill Fields generally need permission for vehicles and catering, so a garden or hired venue is often simpler.

Food truck hire in SE4, SE23 and SE6 is planned around your venue and access and timings. Whether your event is on Ivy Road, Nash Road and Lindal Road or a nearby road, we will plan where to park and serve. If your venue is just outside Brockley, we also cover Crofton Park (1 mile south-east), Honor Oak (1 mile west), Ladywell (1 mile east), Forest Hill (1 mile south-west) and Nunhead (1 mile north-west). Further out, we also cater in London (4 miles north-west), City of Westminster (7 miles north-west), Marylebone (7 miles north-west), Kensington (8 miles north-west), St Pancras (6 miles north-west) and Shoreditch (5 miles north).

Well-known places in the area include University Hospital Lewisham (0.7 miles east) and Greenwich Castle (2.2 miles north-east). The countryside around Brockley includes One Tree Hill and Knight's Hill.

  • Local schools include Prendergast Ladywell School (under half a mile south-east) and Allenby Tutorial Trust (0.8 miles south-west)
  • Local pubs include Blythe Hill Tavern (0.7 miles south)
  • Parks and local facilities nearby include Nunhead (1.3 miles north-west)
