Book food truck hire in Charlton

Who books food truck hire in Charlton?

Guests can come back to the hatch when they’re ready, rather than all at once.

Big or small, a truck or trailer works well. Common bookings include:

  • Client events and product launches
  • Winter staff parties
  • Wedding evening food
  • Staff summer parties

A food truck in Betjeman Millennium Park would need the park owner’s agreement, so check that first.

What your quote should include

  • Plates and napkins, or nothing at all
  • Payment terms and deposit
  • If the price includes VAT
  • When final numbers are due

How to compare caterers

How our food truck hire works in Charlton

Fillings might include carnitas, al pastor-style pork or chicken tinga, with vegan choices like black bean and sweet potato. We plan for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests. It works well for staff summer parties and leaving dos and retirements, serving fresh salsas and guacamole, vegan tacos and loaded nachos.

Planners, venues and businesses

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Charlton questions

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Betjeman Millennium Park?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.

We are having a ceremony at Holy Trinity Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Are plates and napkins included?

Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we will set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

How is the food prepared?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Which areas do you serve?

We cover London and the South East, including Oxfordshire. See all areas.

What’s on the menu?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos and build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

How it compares

Several trucks mean several quotes and arrival times. One Mexican truck with a varied menu keeps things simple. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

How the day works

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event. A Christmas party in Charlton with a hired food truck will be in the dark from about 4:00pm, so choose a well-lit spot for the truck or trailer. In late June, it stays light until about 9:25pm.

  1. First come the basics: date, location, numbers and diets.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. Your guests order at the hatch and we serve hot food at the agreed times.
  5. Once guests are fed, we clear our area and head off.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Ask the venue about power and water

Planning help

Should I do it myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

What affects the price in Charlton

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Whether you need disposables
  • The length of service

Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Expected numbers
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
