How the day works

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can spend time with your guests. A hired food truck at a summer event in Egypt can serve in daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:10pm. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Tell us what the event is and who’s coming.
  2. Together we plan dishes that cover your guests’ diets.
  3. We check power, water and timings with the venue.
  4. Service runs at the times you choose.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

Questions from Egypt

What’s the nearest station to Egypt for guests?

Micheldever station, about 3.5 miles north-east of the centre.

How far is Egypt from London?

About 58 miles from central London, and well within our area.

What does food truck hire cost?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and where your event is. Contact us for a quote.

Where can the truck park?

A firm, level spot, a way in that fits the vehicle, and the venue’s agreement. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we’ll go through the licensing with you.

What about power on site?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

How does private food truck hire work?

You book the truck or trailer for set hours at your event. We cook, serve and clear away.

Can you plan for allergies?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

For planners, venues and organisers

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can check the date.

What’s on the menu

Loaded nachos

Nachos are good for sharing between friends; dairy-free versions can be planned.

Tacos from the hatch

A taco is ideal food from a truck, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.

How it compares

If you want guests to remember the food, a private food truck is a strong option in Egypt. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.
