Food truck hire near Eastleigh

Food truck hire for your event in Eastleigh

Food truck hire suits weddings, milestone birthdays and staff events, and any gathering where guests want hot food without a sit-down meal. On the menu are burritos, burrito bowls and quesadillas, and it is a good fit for private outdoor parties and engagements and anniversaries.

In a town like Eastleigh, a hired food truck can park on a drive, in a club or hall car park, or at a hired venue. All can work, given a way in and level ground. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so there are no surprises on arrival.

What happens on the day

We get there well before you want to serve, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. At midsummer, it stays light in Eastleigh until about 9:25pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:10pm. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Send us your date, the address, a headcount and dietary needs.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. We confirm the parking spot, access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. On the day we drive in, set up and serve to order from the hatch.
  5. When service ends, we pack up and leave the spot clear.

How to prepare

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready

Planning help

For planners, venues and organisers

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Your questions about food truck hire in Eastleigh

Can you serve near the sea around Eastleigh?

Yes, as long as the site allows it and the ground is firm. Wind, sand and seafront permissions are the main things to plan on the coast.

How far is Eastleigh from central London?

It is about 65 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

We confirm that with your quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

Do you cater in Eastleigh?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Eastleigh is within our area. To check your date, send us your details through our quote form.

Do you cook on site?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we’ll check the licensing with you.

Is food truck hire good for weddings?

Wedding food from a truck feels relaxed and sociable, especially in the evening. We agree access and timings with the venue.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Planning for every diet

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because options can be kept separate. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Put anyone with a severe allergy in touch with us
  • Check gate widths and any height limits
  • Think about cover if the weather turns
  • Confirm allergies with us in writing

We drive in at the agreed time and park in the planned spot. It helps if someone can meet us on arrival.

Quesadillas make an easy option for children, if you’d like a kids’ choice.

Food truck hire or something else?

A private hire is not the same as a festival stall. At a festival we trade to the public; when you hire us, we serve only your guests, on your timings. Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why us?

What to look for in a quote

  • Staff numbers and hours

  • What the price includes, item by item
  • Whether plates, napkins and cutlery are included

Our caterer checklist

Prices and what affects them

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • What the venue already provides
  • How many guests we are serving
  • How long we’re needed on site
  • What’s on the menu

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Details that help

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Expected numbers
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Diets and allergies you know about

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

Planning the serving area

We’ll be honest if a space will not work, and suggest an alternative. What matters most:

  • Arrangements for power and water, agreed when you book
  • A parking suspension, where a street spot is needed
  • Some space between the truck and nearby homes

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we offer

  • Mexican drinks bar

  • Tacos
