How our food truck hire works in Frostlane

We cook inside our truck or trailer, so there is no need for kitchen space at the venue. We need a level spot, safe access and the venue’s permission. We serve quesadillas, loaded nachos and burritos, which works well for end-of-year celebrations and big birthdays.

For a rural spot like Frostlane, food truck hire needs a little planning: gate widths, soft ground and the route from the road all matter. We confirm power and water arrangements with you. Every guest is catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included, with allergen information for everything we serve.

Diets, allergies and planning

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Have shelter ready in case of rain
  • Confirm the venue accepts outside caterers and vehicles
  • Guests with serious allergies should contact us first
  • Add a dietary question to the invitation

At the end of service, we close the hatch and pack down.

Ask about a second service later in the evening, quoted with the main booking.

The process

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. Send us a picture of the space if you are unsure. At midsummer, it stays light in Frostlane until about 9:25pm, and by late September sunset is about 7:10pm. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Share your plans for the event.
  2. Together we plan dishes that cover your guests’ diets.
  3. Power, water and timings are agreed with you or the venue.
  4. Service runs at the times you choose.
  5. Once service ends, we tidy up and go.

Getting ready for the day

  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Planning the serving area

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but there are a few things to check:

  • A way in wide and high enough for the vehicle
  • Arrangements for power and water, agreed when you book
  • Some space between the truck and nearby homes

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.
