Choosing a Mexican caterer

Food truck hire in Haslingbourne, served fresh

Pair the truck with our Mexican drinks bar with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. A build-your-own taco bar can sit beside the truck too. It suits leaving dos and retirements and wedding evening food, with fresh salsas and guacamole, burritos and burrito bowls.

Somewhere as small as Haslingbourne, food truck hire can mean a garden, a field or a barn. Lanes, gates and long drives are fine if we know about them. Firm ground matters, especially after rain. You’ll know what’s included before you book: menu, timings and any add-ons.

  • The landowner’s go-ahead for the truck or trailer

Dietary needs and planning tips

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Walk the access route and note narrow gaps
  • Guests with serious allergies should contact us first
  • Check early that your venue allows food trucks
  • Add a dietary question to the invitation

Service starts when your timings say.

Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas from our drinks bar can join the truck, with licensing checked with you.

How we price food truck hire

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Serving staff

Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Details that help

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. Contact us for a quote: just tell us about it on our contact page.

Common questions in Haslingbourne

Could we book your food truck for a private event in Haslingbourne?

Yes, as long as we are available on the date and can get the truck or trailer in. Let us know about access and where we’d park.

What’s the nearest station to Haslingbourne for guests?

Guests can use Pulborough station, about 3.8 miles east of Haslingbourne.

How spicy is the food?

That is your choice: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Where do you cater?

London and South East England: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

Do you give allergen information?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, with allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we can’t promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

How many guests can the truck serve?

That depends on your timings and the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we do. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. A hired food truck at a summer event in Haslingbourne can serve in daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:05pm. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Tell us the date, the location, rough numbers and any diets.
  2. We suggest a menu for the hatch and quote for it.
  3. Before the day, we agree the spot, the way in, power and water.
  4. On the day we drive in, set up and serve to order from the hatch.
  5. After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

Working with your venue

Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about access, and we will let you know if it’s a good fit.

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.
