About our food truck hire in Ore

You could pick fillings such as chicken tinga, carnitas or beef birria, with vegan choices like black bean and sweet potato. We plan for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free diets. For christenings and family parties and private parties in fields and grounds, we will put together a menu of burritos, tacos from the hatch and burrito bowls.

Around Ore, a hired food truck can serve in a garden, a field or a hall car park. Narrow roads and soft ground are fine if we know about them. Your quote sets out what’s included: menu, timings and any add-ons.

What happens on the day

We work to your timings. If things run behind, let us know and we’ll adjust where we can. December events in Ore lose the light at about 3:55pm, so choose a well-lit spot for the truck or trailer. At midsummer, sunset is around 9:15pm.

  1. Tell us what the event is and who’s coming.
  2. Together we plan dishes that cover your guests’ diets.
  3. Power, water and timings are agreed with you or the venue.
  4. Service runs at the times you choose.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

Space, access and the venue

We serve from a truck or trailer, so where we park matters. Here’s what we look for:

  • Enough width and height on the route in
  • A spot away from neighbours
  • Space in front of the hatch for guests to queue

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

Organising for someone else?

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Hosting a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we’ll let you know if it’s a good fit.

What affects the price in Ore

Contact us for a quote, which reflects:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • The menu you choose
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • The date and rough timings
  • The venue or postcode

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

Is food truck hire right for your event?

Most guests have seen a burger van. A Mexican food truck offers something less expected while staying easy to eat. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

What you get with us

  • Quoted for your event
  • Menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests
  • Served fresh from our food truck or trailer
  • A plan agreed before the day

DIY taco night or a caterer?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Ore questions

Could you serve our guests after a service at Christ Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Is it possible to have you in Speckled Wood?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.

Can you come to a private house?

That depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we will advise.

Is the food made fresh?

We cook to order in our truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Do you need electricity?

That depends on the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we will check the licensing with you.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

How long do you serve for?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.
