Food truck hire for Pound Hill events

Food truck hire for your event in Pound Hill

The truck or trailer is a working kitchen on wheels, so there is no need for kitchen space at the venue. What we do need is level ground, a way in and the venue’s agreement. At family celebrations and summer parties at home, we will put together a menu of tacos from the hatch, burritos and fresh salsas and guacamole and more.

Around Pound Hill, a hired food truck can serve in a garden, a field or a hall car park. Narrow roads and soft ground are fine if we know about them. Your quote sets out what’s included: menu, timings and any add-ons.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Your questions about food truck hire in Pound Hill

How far is Pound Hill from central London?

It’s about 26 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

We’re having a ceremony at St Barnabas': can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you sell to the public at private events?

Private hire means we serve only your guests, on a menu and timings agreed with you. Festival and market trading is open to the public; see our street food catering page.

Do you do parties at home?

Yes, as long as there is access and a level, firm spot. Send us a photo of the access and the space.

Is the food very hot?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

How soon do we need to book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Do you have options for kids?

Of course. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Working with your venue

Hosting a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about access, and we’ll tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

How the day works

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. Afterwards we clear our area. December events in Pound Hill lose the light at about 3:55pm, so ask the venue about outdoor lighting where we’ll park. In late June, it stays light until about 9:20pm.

  1. Send us your date, the address, a headcount and dietary needs.
  2. We check availability and send a menu and a quote for hiring the truck or trailer.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. Your guests order at the hatch and we serve hot food at the agreed times.
  5. When service ends, we pack up and leave the spot clear.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve

Prices and what affects them

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • The menu you choose
  • How many staff you need
  • Parking and the route in

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for food truck hire. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Contact us for a quote.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. To send your details, send us your details through our quote form.

Planning the serving area

We serve from a truck or trailer, so where we park matters. These are the things we check:

  • A place for guests to eat close to the hatch
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a food truck
  • A parking suspension, where a street spot is needed

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

What we offer

  • Burrito bowls
  • Mexican drinks bar
  • Loaded nachos
  • Burritos
  • Tacos
  • Quesadillas
