Planners, venues and businesses

Food truck hire in Queensbury, served fresh

When you hire our food truck, it serves your guests and nobody else. Unlike a stall at a festival or market, it is a private hire, so the menu and timings are set around your event. It works well for garden parties and winter staff parties, with vegan tacos, tacos from the hatch and quesadillas.

At a private or office event in Queensbury, guests order at the hatch of our food truck or trailer. Tell us about the route in, height barriers and narrow entrances, and send a picture if you can. Timings are planned around your event, so service starts when you want it.

What food truck hire costs

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Food, drinks or both
  • What the venue already provides
  • Parking and the route in
  • What’s on the menu

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.

What we need to know

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Your menu ideas
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field

Send us the date, your venue or HA3 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, use our quote form.

Food truck hire or something else?

Cooking yourself saves on catering but costs you the day. Hire the truck and the cooking is ours. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

FAQs for Queensbury

Which station should guests use for Queensbury?

The closest is Kenton station, roughly 1.3 miles away.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Roe Green Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

Is private hire the same as trading at a festival?

When you hire us, the booking is yours, so we don’t serve passers-by. Organisers wanting us to trade at their event can see our festival page.

Can you do gluten-free food?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller gatherings are looked at case by case.

Can we add drinks?

The drinks bar comes with bar staff. We’ll talk through licensing first.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes. Dairy-free options are part of our menus, and we will tell you which dishes contain milk.

What about vegan and gluten-free guests?

We plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests. Every dish has allergen information.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Share your running order
  • Check gate widths and any height limits
  • Tell us about coeliac guests
  • Collect diets and allergies with your RSVPs

Running late? Tell us, and we will work around it.

Our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can join the truck, with licensing checked with you.

How it works

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. At midsummer, it stays light in Queensbury until about 9:20pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:05pm. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Ask us whether your date is available.
  2. We agree a hatch menu and send a quote.
  3. The spot and the way in are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, guests order at the hatch and we cook to order.
  5. We pack down and drive away when service ends.

How to prepare

  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Give us a contact for the day

Questions to ask before you book

Should I do it myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.
