Food truck hire in Shadwell

About our food truck hire in Shadwell

We cook inside our food truck or trailer, so there’s no need for kitchen space at the venue. We need a level spot, safe access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed per booking. Popular choices include loaded nachos, burrito bowls and vegan tacos, and it is a good fit for launch events and staff appreciation days.

In Shadwell, a yard, forecourt or car park can suit a hired food truck. We need a level spot and room for a queue at the hatch, plus your venue’s agreement. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Common questions in Shadwell

We are having a ceremony at St Paul's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Which station is closest to Shadwell?

Shadwell has its own station: Wapping station.

How much is a food truck for an event?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the length of service and the location. Send us the details for a quote.

Can you come to a private house?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Send us a picture and we’ll talk it through.

What does it cost to hire the truck?

We quote for every hire, based on guest numbers, the menu, the location and service times. For a price, send us your details through our quote form.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes, children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll suggest mild options.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Ask us when you enquire. Tell us what your venue provides, and we’ll confirm what’s included with your quote.

Is private hire the same as trading at a festival?

Private hire means we serve only your guests, with a menu and timings you agree with us. At festivals and markets we trade to the public; see our street food catering page.

Planners, venues and businesses

Throwing a party at home? Send us a photo of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we’ll let you know if it is a good fit.

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

What we need at the venue

We serve from a truck or trailer, so where we park matters. These are the things we check:

  • Some space between the truck and nearby homes
  • Seating or standing room near the truck
  • A way in wide and high enough for the vehicle

Shadwell is in London, inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, which covers all of Greater London, and parking can be tight: let us know about permits, bays, off-street space or a parking suspension.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

How it compares

Most guests have seen a burger van. Tacos and burritos from a truck feel different. Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

What you get with us

  • Menus chosen with you
  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer
  • Allergen-aware menus
  • Options for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests

Step by step

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. Rain doesn’t normally stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. A Christmas party in Shadwell with a hired food truck will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so ask the venue about outdoor lighting where we’ll park. At midsummer, sunset is around 9:20pm.

  1. First come the basics: date, location, numbers and diets.
  2. We check availability and send a menu and a quote for hiring the truck or trailer.
  3. We confirm the parking spot, access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. Your guests order at the hatch and we serve hot food at the agreed times.
  5. After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.

How to prepare

  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

How to compare caterers

How we price food truck hire

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Food, drinks or both
  • How many guests we’re serving

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • The address or venue name
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

DIY taco night or a caterer?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
