Food truck hire in Shepway

Food truck hire in Shepway, served fresh

When you hire our food truck, it serves your guests and nobody else. It is a private booking, not public trading, so the menu and timings are set around your event. For leaving dos and retirements and engagements and anniversaries, we can serve quesadillas, loaded nachos and tacos from the hatch and more.

In a smaller place like Shepway, hiring our food truck for a party at home is often the easiest option: no venue hire, and guests order at the hatch. Tell us about the lane and the drive. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our truck or trailer.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

Dietary needs and planning tips

With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:

  • Let us know who is coeliac
  • Tell us when guests should eat
  • Add a dietary question to the invitation
  • Check gate widths and any height limits

We can serve through rain, but guests will want a covered area to eat.

Tell us what serveware you need and we’ll confirm the options in your quote.

Prices and what affects them

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • The number of people
  • What’s on the menu
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Distance and access to the venue

Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What to tell us

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • What power and water the site has
  • The venue or postcode
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

Is food truck hire right for your event?

For food that becomes part of the event, hiring a Mexican food truck is worth considering. The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, plus any add-ons and the location. Every event gets its own quote.

Why us?

  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Allergen-aware menus
  • A menu agreed with you
  • Quoted for your event

Before you choose a spot

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • Any parking or loading permission needed for street locations
  • Firm, level ground or hardstanding where the truck or trailer can park
  • Agreement from the venue to bring in a catering vehicle

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Planning help

Common questions in Shepway

How far is Shepway from London?

Roughly 32 miles from the centre of London.

We are having a ceremony at St Martin's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

Can we hire a bar too?

We bring bar staff with the drinks bar and alcohol-free choices. Alcohol needs the right licence, which we will check with you.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Is food truck hire good for weddings?

A food truck suits a relaxed wedding well. We’ll check access and timings with your venue.

Organising for someone else?

If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.
