Food truck hire for Sparsholt events

For planners, venues and organisers

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so everyone is served promptly. Let us know how long the break is.

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we’ll tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

Food truck hire for your event in Sparsholt

We cook inside our food truck or trailer, so your venue doesn’t need a kitchen. We need a level spot, safe access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed per booking. At christenings and family parties and wedding receptions, we’ll put together a menu of quesadillas, burritos and vegan tacos.

Somewhere as small as Sparsholt, food truck hire can mean a garden, a field or a barn. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives. Soft ground after rain is worth mentioning too. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

  • What happens if it rains

How to compare caterers

Prices and what affects them

We’ll give you a clear quote. The main things that affect it are:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • What’s on the menu
  • Guest numbers

Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

What to tell us

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • Where the event is
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Sparsholt: parking, access and venues

Sparsholt is about 3 miles west of Wantage, in Oxfordshire. Anywhere in OX12, we can bring the truck or trailer to you, as long as there’s access. Sparsholt is one of 443 towns and villages in Oxfordshire where we can bring food truck hire. Our nearest city page is Oxford, about 16 miles away.

When the service is at a church such as Church of the Holy Rood, the truck would serve at the reception venue rather than at the church. The North Wessex Downs National Landscape is within about 6 miles of Sparsholt, with country venues and gardens where a hired food truck could serve. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules on vehicles, so check with yours.

Anywhere in OX12, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests. Local streets include West Street, Watery Lane and Church Way; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. Close by, we cover events in Westcot (1 mile west), Kingston Lisle (1 mile west), Woolstone (3 miles west), Sheepdrove (5 miles south) and Upper Lambourn (5 miles south-west). How it works

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event. A hired food truck at a summer event in Sparsholt can serve in daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:10pm. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Ask us whether your date is available.
  2. We agree a hatch menu and send a quote.
  3. The spot and the way in are agreed in advance.
  4. We drive in, open the hatch and serve your guests.
  5. We pack down and drive away when service ends.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

Sparsholt questions

Can we hire your food truck for a private party in Sparsholt?

Yes, depending on the date. For a private or work event in a village or hamlet, the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Will you travel to a small place like Sparsholt?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Where do you cater?

We cover London and the South East, including Oxfordshire. Find your area.

What access do you need?

A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, plus the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

How long do you serve for?

It depends on your event. Timings are agreed in advance so everything fits your schedule.

Is private hire the same as trading at a festival?

Private hire means we serve only your guests, on a menu and timings agreed with you. At festivals and markets we trade to the public.

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. If the truck or trailer cannot reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Send us a photo and we’ll talk it through.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it is short notice, it is worth asking.

About the menu

Burritos

Burritos suit hungry guests.

Burrito bowls

A bowl is a good choice for guests avoiding tortillas, and they’re easy to adapt.

Is food truck hire right for your event?

Plated catering needs a kitchen tent, waiting staff and set courses. Our food truck or trailer brings the kitchen and serves from one hatch. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why us?

  • Options for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests
  • Fast service, even with a queue
  • Events in Sparsholt and across Oxfordshire
  • A plan agreed before the day

What we need at the venue

We will agree the spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Somewhere for guests to sit or stand and eat
  • A parking suspension, where a street spot is needed
  • Gate widths, overhead branches and soft ground checked in advance

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.
