Food truck hire for Stonehill events

Planning food truck hire around Stonehill

Stonehill is about 3 miles north of Woking, in Surrey. For an event in Stonehill, we can park up at venues, fields, drives and courtyards in and around Stonehill. We serve in all 395 towns and villages in Surrey, from the larger towns to small villages.

Parks such as Gracious Pond normally need permission for vehicles and catering, so a garden or hired venue is often simpler. Roughly 22 miles separate Stonehill from central London.

This part of Surrey takes in KT16. Your event could be at a home on Stonehill Road and Stonehill Crescent or the roads around them. If your venue is just outside Stonehill, we also cover Ottershaw (1 mile east), Longcross (1 mile north-west), Mimbridge (2 miles south-west), Lyne (2 miles north-east) and Trumps Green (2 miles north). Larger places within reach include Guildford (8 miles south), Woking (3 miles south), Camberley (8 miles west), Epsom (13 miles east), Farnham (15 miles south-west) and Ewell (13 miles east).

Well-known places in the area include Chobham Museum (2.2 miles south-west) and The Peacocks (3.1 miles south). Open spaces near Stonehill include Gracious Pond and St Ann's Lake.

How our food truck hire works in Stonehill

Everyone orders at the hatch and gets food cooked to order. It keeps things easy and relaxed. Popular choices include fresh salsas and guacamole, tacos from the hatch and vegan tacos, and it suits company away days and garden parties.

In a rural place like Stonehill, access is the main thing to plan for a hired truck: gate widths, soft ground and the route from the road all matter. Power and water may be limited, so we confirm the arrangements before the day. You can book food, drinks or both, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

For event organisers in Stonehill

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Stonehill? A truck or trailer serves a crowd quickly, with options for most diets. Give us the details and we’ll suggest a plan.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Events we cater in Stonehill

Every order is cooked and served hot, rather than waiting under foil.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Common bookings include:

  • Winter staff parties
  • Garden parties
  • Big birthdays
  • Wedding receptions

After a service at a church such as Christ Church, a hired food truck at a garden, field or venue nearby can feed everyone.

Questions to ask before you book

  • The venue requirements
  • Allergen information for each dish
  • VAT, if it applies
  • Plates and napkins, or nothing at all

Our caterer checklist

DIY taco night or a caterer?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Popular choices

Salsas and guacamole

Fresh salsas and guacamole, made for your event.

Burritos

Rice, beans, a filling and salsa wrapped in a big tortilla.

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • The menu you choose
  • Timings and hours
  • Parking and the route in
  • What the venue already provides

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. Every event gets its own quote.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • The address or venue name
  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Your questions about food truck hire in Stonehill

How far is Stonehill from London?

About 22 miles from central London, and well within our area.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Christ Church?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

What happens if it rains?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, like a marquee or gazebo.

What do you serve?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings might include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, with allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we cannot promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

When do you arrive?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, we can. Let us know your dairy-free numbers, and we’ll plan the menu around them.

How it works

We work to your timings. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, tell us and we will adjust the start of service where we can. A hired food truck at a summer event in Stonehill can serve in daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, and by late September sunset is about 7:05pm. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Tell us the date, the location, rough numbers and any diets.
  2. We suggest a menu for the hatch and quote for it.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we drive in, set up and serve to order from the hatch.
  5. After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

How to get a price

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • Gate widths, overhead branches and soft ground checked in advance
  • Room for guests to gather at the hatch
  • Firm, level ground or hardstanding where the truck or trailer can park

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

Menu ideas

  • Quesadillas
  • Burritos
  • Mexican drinks bar
  • Burrito bowls
  • Tacos
  • Loaded nachos

Catering for every guest

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Ask the venue about catering vehicles before booking
  • Put anyone with a severe allergy in touch with us
  • Check gate widths and any height limits
  • Add a dietary question to the invitation

The hatch opens at the time you choose.

Our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can join the truck, with licensing checked with you.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
