How our food truck hire works in Woodside

You choose the hatch menu with us: tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, loaded nachos or quesadillas, finished with salsas and guacamole. It works well for leaving dos and retirements and christenings and family parties, serving vegan tacos, burritos and loaded nachos.

For a rural spot like Woodside, food truck hire needs a little planning: the gate, the ground and the distance from the lane. We confirm power and water arrangements with you. You can book food, drinks or both, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

Prices and what affects them

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Whether you need disposables
  • Food, drinks or both
  • The menu you choose
  • The length of service

Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

What to tell us

To speed things up, tell us:

  • The address or venue name
  • A photo of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you are ready, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

How it works

When we arrive, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event. At midsummer, it stays light in Woodside until about 9:25pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:05pm. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan lighting where guests queue at the hatch.

  1. Tell us what the event is and who’s coming.
  2. We suggest fillings and dishes for every diet.
  3. Power, water and timings are agreed with you or the venue.
  4. Service runs at the times you choose.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

How to prepare

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready

Space, access and the venue

If a space isn’t suitable, we’ll tell you, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:

  • A spot away from neighbours
  • A place for guests to eat close to the hatch
  • A way in wide and high enough for the vehicle

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Why choose food truck hire in Woodside?

The truck becomes the place guests gather, and the hatch draws people over.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Common bookings include:

  • Staff summer parties
  • Birthday parties
  • Wedding receptions
  • End-of-year parties

A food truck in Silwood Park would need the park owner’s agreement, so check that first.

What your quote should include

  • How late numbers can change
  • The wet-weather plan
  • A food hygiene rating you can check
  • How each diet is kept separate

Our caterer checklist

Planners, venues and businesses

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Planning for every diet

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because options can be kept separate. A few tips:

  • Confirm the venue accepts outside caterers and vehicles
  • Flag any coeliac guests
  • Tell us when guests should eat
  • Ask guests about dietary needs when they reply

If your timings move, let us know and we’ll adjust service.

Tell us what serveware you need and we will confirm the options in your quote.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

FAQs for Woodside

Which station is closest to Woodside?

The closest is Ascot station, roughly 1.8 miles away.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Peter?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Is the food very hot?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

How many guests can the truck serve?

That depends on your timings and the event. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we will plan the menu around them.

How does private food truck hire work?

Our food truck or trailer comes to your venue and serves your guests from the hatch. Only your guests are served.

Can you come to a private house?

That depends on access. If the truck or trailer can’t reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Tell us about the space and we’ll advise.

Do you sell to the public at private events?

A private hire is booked and quoted for you, and we do not sell to the public. Organisers wanting us to trade at their event can see our festival page.
