Food truck hire near Cheapside

Food truck hire in Cheapside, served fresh

A hired food truck works for weddings, birthdays and staff days, and any gathering where guests want hot food without a sit-down meal. It works well for staff summer parties and garden parties, with tacos from the hatch, loaded nachos and vegan tacos.

Somewhere as small as Cheapside, food truck hire can mean a garden, a field or a barn. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives. Firm ground matters, especially after rain. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included, with allergen information for everything we serve.

Food truck hire or something else?

A marquee kitchen with plated service needs more space, more staff and more time. Our truck or trailer brings the kitchen and serves from one hatch. What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so tell us what you have in mind. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Why book with us

  • A plan agreed before the day
  • Served fresh from our food truck or trailer
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • Every guest catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included

Read our pricing or what Mexican catering costs.

Before you choose a spot

We will agree the spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • A flat parking spot on firm ground or hardstanding
  • Some space between the truck and nearby homes
  • Any parking or loading permission needed for street locations

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Look into parking permissions if the truck cannot go off-road
  • Email us any allergies
  • Tell us about coeliac guests

At the end of service, we close the hatch and pack down and drive off quietly.

Add a build-your-own taco bar beside the truck.

How it works

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. Send us a picture of the space if you’re unsure. Late-September events in Cheapside see sunset at about 7:05pm, so a later service will need some lighting. In late May, daylight lasts until about 8:55pm.

  1. Check our availability for your date.
  2. We agree a hatch menu and send a quote.
  3. We confirm the parking spot and the route in.
  4. We drive in, open the hatch and serve your guests.
  5. After service, we close up and leave the spot clear.

How to prepare

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

Planning help

What food truck hire costs

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • How many staff you need
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Guest numbers

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, plus any add-ons and the location. We quote for each event individually.

Details that help

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Where the event is
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

It’s easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We’ll send you a clear quote.

For planners, venues and organisers

Events in public spaces, like parks, normally need permission. We will provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

How to compare caterers

Should I do it myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Cheapside questions

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Michael and All Angels?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

What’s the nearest station to Cheapside for guests?

The closest is Ascot station, roughly 1.6 miles away.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

How spicy is the food?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Where can the truck park?

Send us the address and a description of the spot, and we’ll check the access. Our guide to space and power has more.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we’ll set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Popular dates go first, so it pays to ask early.
