Mexican catering in Kingston, from our truck or trailer

Planning taco catering for an event in Kingston? Serving from a truck or trailer keeps the mood easy-going. People wander up, order at the hatch and head off with hot food, which suits informal events. Popular choices include a build-your-own taco bar, tacos and quesadillas, and it suits engagement celebrations and leaving dos and retirement parties.

In a smaller place like Kingston, your own garden, drive or a local hall is often the simplest option: no venue to hire and no cooking for you. Tell us about access down the lane or drive. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

For event organisers in Kingston

If you are booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

Planning for every diet

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
  • Count children separately
  • Mention any other caterers or courses
  • Confirm the venue is happy to have a catering vehicle

We have allergen information for every dish at the hatch.

Ask about extra salsas and toppings for a bigger spread.

What we need at the venue

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • Space for guests to queue
  • A spot for a taco-bar serving table
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Popular choices

How the day works

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. Around midsummer it stays light in Kingston until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting around the truck and the queue.

  1. Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. We come back with menu ideas and a quote.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and arrangements.
  4. At the agreed time, service starts from the truck or trailer.
  5. We pack away when service is over.

Preparing for the day

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

Do you do parties at home?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we will advise.

Is the food very hot?

It is up to you: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Should I do it myself?
