How our Mexican catering works in New Zealand
Planning taco catering for an event in New Zealand? You can keep the menu short or make it a feast: tacos on their own, or tacos with burritos, nachos and quesadillas. Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can come from our drinks bar. On the menu are a build-your-own taco bar, fresh salsas and guacamole and burritos, which works well for leaving parties and birthday parties.
Somewhere like New Zealand, a field or garden is often the setting. Mention gates and soft ground when you get in touch. Timings are planned around your event, so service starts when you want it.

Mexican catering around New Zealand
New Zealand is about 1 mile west of Elmhurst, in Buckinghamshire. Wherever your event is in the HP19 area, we will come to your venue or site, as long as there is access. We serve in all 263 towns and villages in Buckinghamshire. Our truck and trailer cover the area from New Zealand to High Wycombe (about 14 miles away).
Guests leaving a church like St Peter's after a christening could walk over to a nearby garden where the tacos are ready. Guests arriving by train will find that Aylesbury station is about 0.8 miles away. New Zealand is within about 6 miles of the Chilterns National Landscape, with country venues and gardens that can suit a food truck. Some venues in protected landscapes have rules about vehicles and catering, so check with yours.
We cover events in every part of HP19 and HP20. We can cater an event on streets such as Dunsham Lane, Drayton Road and Cannock Road. For events just outside New Zealand, we cover Elmhurst (1 mile east), Aylesbury (1 mile south), Watermead (1 mile north-east), Quarrendon Estate (1 mile west) and California (1 mile south). Further out, we also cater in High Wycombe (14 miles south), Chesham (12 miles south-east), Buckingham (14 miles north-west), Amersham (14 miles south-east), Princes Risborough (7 miles south) and Haddenham (6 miles south-west).
A little further out are Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital (less than half a mile south) and Dinton Castle (3.8 miles south-west).
- Schools near New Zealand include The PACE Centre (0.6 miles west) and Buckinghamshire UTC (0.8 miles south-west)
- Local pubs include The New Zealand pub (under half a mile south)
Comparing your options
A drop-off platter is easy, but nobody remembers it. Hot food served from a truck feels like part of the event. Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so share your ideas with us. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Working with your venue
If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.
Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.
FAQs for New Zealand
Do you come to events in the Chilterns National Landscape?
We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.
Will you travel to a small place like New Zealand?
Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.
What if it rains?
The truck or trailer serves in the rain, but guests will need somewhere covered to eat.
Can you cater in a back garden?
That depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Tell us about the space and we will advise.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.
What can we choose from?
Every menu is agreed with you, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria or spiced mushrooms. The sample menu shows the options.
Where do you cater?
We cover London and the South East, Buckinghamshire included. See all areas.
Can you cater for children?
Of course. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.
Diets, allergies and planning
Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:
- Ask guests about diets and allergies with your invitations
- Check that your venue allows outside caterers and vehicles
- Plan a vegan filling as well as a vegetarian one
- Count children separately
For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests help themselves while we keep it topped up.
Quesadillas are a good choice for children and cautious eaters.
Events we cater in New Zealand
It is colourful, generous food that suits a relaxed event in New Zealand.
Almost any gathering can work with a truck or trailer. People in New Zealand can book us for occasions like:
- Fundraisers and school events
- Staff parties and office lunches
- Anniversaries and engagements
- Leaving parties
If you are organising a summer fair for a school like Elmhurst School, a taco truck can be a crowd-pleaser.

Where the truck can go in New Zealand
No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:
- A sensible distance from buildings and neighbours
- A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
- Agreement from the venue to bring a food truck or trailer on site
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

Should I do it myself?
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.
A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.
How it works
Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. From late May to late September, sunset in New Zealand moves from about 8:55pm to 7:05pm. If your event carries on later, tell us what lighting the venue has.
- First, send us a few details about your event.
- We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
- We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
- On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
- Once service ends, we clear away.
Getting ready for the day
- Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
- Give us a contact for the day
- Tell us what power and water the site has
