Wedding Mexican catering for your wedding in New Zealand

Your wedding menu is agreed with you, perhaps with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga or birria, plus vegan options like spiced mushrooms or black beans. It works well for farm and barn venues and food for evening guests, serving evening tacos, burrito bowls and fresh guacamole and salsas.

A wedding in a small place like New Zealand often means a field, a barn or a family garden. That’s where a food truck comes into its own: no kitchen, just firm ground and access. Let us know about access, ground, power and water. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

  • Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Let us know about supplier meals
  • Send us the running order and speech times
  • Give us separate day and evening numbers
  • Check the venue’s rules for outside caterers and vehicles

Allergen information is available for every dish, and dishes are labelled.

Ask us about plates, cutlery and serving staff, and we’ll confirm what’s possible with your quote.

Questions from New Zealand

Which station should guests use for New Zealand?

Guests can use Aylesbury station, about 0.8 miles south of New Zealand.

Do you come out to small places like New Zealand?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Do you do a wedding bar?

Yes, we have a drinks bar, with bar staff serving your guests. Your venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice will be needed for alcohol, and we will check that with you.

How many guests can you serve?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

What’s on the menu?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Do you cook on site?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Can you come to a private house?

It depends on access. If the truck or trailer can’t reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Send us a picture and we will talk it through.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can talk through how their food is prepared.

Getting married in New Zealand?

New Zealand is about 1 mile west of Elmhurst, in Buckinghamshire. For a wedding in New Zealand, we can serve in gardens, fields, venues, car parks and courtyards with access in and around New Zealand. We cover all 263 towns and villages in Buckinghamshire, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. We cater right across the region, from New Zealand to High Wycombe (14 miles away).

Say your vows at a church like St Peter's, then head to a garden, barn or marquee where the truck or trailer is waiting. A rural reception could be within reach, as the Chilterns National Landscape is no more than about 6 miles from New Zealand. Firm ground and a clear way in matter more than the view for a food truck.

For wedding Mexican catering in HP19 and HP20, we plan around your venue and the route in. That could mean a wedding at a home with a drive on Dunsham Lane, Drayton Road and Cannock Road or the roads around them. Close by, we cover weddings in Elmhurst (1 mile east), Aylesbury (1 mile south), Watermead (1 mile north-east), Quarrendon Estate (1 mile west) and California (1 mile south). Larger places within reach include High Wycombe (14 miles south), Chesham (12 miles south-east), Buckingham (14 miles north-west), Amersham (14 miles south-east), Princes Risborough (7 miles south) and Haddenham (6 miles south-west).

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • The length of service
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • What’s on the menu

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

How to compare caterers

What happens on the day

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. When service ends, we pack down. At midsummer, sunset in New Zealand is about 9:25pm, so we can time the evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. We start by checking your date.
  2. You choose the fillings, sides and extras.
  3. We confirm access and the serving spot with your coordinator.
  4. Guests build their tacos at the taco bar or order at the hatch.
  5. After serving, we clear away.
