Mexican bar hire for Mortlake events

Planning the serving area

We serve from a truck or trailer, so where we park matters. Here’s what we look for:

  • Details of power and water on site
  • A spot away from neighbours’ windows if the bar runs late
  • A clear area in front of the bar

Mortlake is in London, inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, which covers all of Greater London, and parking can be tight: tell us about parking bays, permits, a driveway or whether a parking suspension is needed.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

What we offer

  • Margaritas
  • Horchata
  • Agua de jamaica (hibiscus)
  • Mexican beer
  • Soft drinks
  • Fruit aguas frescas

How our Mexican bar hire works in Mortlake

Serving alcohol at events needs a licence: a premises licence at the venue, or a Temporary Event Notice. We talk licensing through with you before the day. On the menu are Mexican beer, horchata and margaritas, which works well for milestone birthdays and wedding receptions and evening parties.

Around Mortlake, a courtyard or forecourt the truck or trailer can reach is ideal. Tell us about narrow streets, permit bays or a parking suspension. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

Your questions about Mexican bar hire in Mortlake

Could you serve our guests after a service at All Saints' Church?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Could you serve in Palewell Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Do you cook on site?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

How much is the bar?

Every bar is quoted for individually, depending on guests, drinks and timings. Contact us for a quote.

Do you check ages at the bar?

Always. No alcohol is served to under-18s, and we may refuse service to anyone who has had too much.

Can we have the bar on its own?

Of course. Our Mexican catering can be added too.

Will someone run the bar?

Bar staff are part of the service, and serve throughout the agreed hours.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

The process

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. At midsummer, it is light in Mortlake until about 9:20pm, so evening drinks can be served in daylight. In late September it is dark around 7:05pm, and in December by about 3:55pm, so evening bars need lighting.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
  2. We talk through licensing with you, whether that is the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
  3. We put together a drinks menu, with alcohol-free choices, and quote for it.
  4. We arrive, set up and serve margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.
  5. When the bar closes, we pack down and clear our area.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Find out what power and water are available
