A gathering in Fordham Park? Check the park’s rules first, as alcohol and vehicles usually need permission. Older venues around Telegraph Hill may restrict vehicles and outside drinks service, so confirm what’s allowed before booking.
Anywhere in SE4, SE15 and SE14, we can bring Mexican bar hire to you, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Can I do a taco night myself?
You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.
You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.
How the day works
When service finishes, we pack up and leave our area tidy. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. At midsummer, it is light in Telegraph Hill until about 9:20pm, ideal for drinks outdoors. In late September it is dark around 7:05pm, and in December by about 3:55pm, so evening bars need lighting.
- It starts with your date, venue, numbers and what you’d like to serve.
- We talk licensing through with you: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice.
- We put together a drinks menu, with alcohol-free choices, and quote for it.
- We arrive, set up and serve margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.
- When the bar closes, we pack down and clear our area.
Preparing for the day
- Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
- Let us know who to talk to on the day
- Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely

Telegraph Hill: your questions answered
Is it possible to have you in Fordham Park?
Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide what they ask for from us.
Which station should guests use for Telegraph Hill?
Telegraph Hill has its own station: Brockley station.
When should we book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.
What areas do you cover?
We cover London and the South East, Greater London included. Find your area.
Do you cater in Telegraph Hill?
Yes, we do. Telegraph Hill is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.
What do you serve?
Mexican street food: tacos and build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.
Will someone run the bar?
We bring bar staff.
When do you arrive?
We get there well before service to set up. Serving times are agreed with you in advance.
What Mexican bar hire costs
The price comes down to a few factors:
- Staff for serving and the bar
- Food, drinks or both
- The length of service
- What’s on the menu
The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.
Getting an accurate quote
These details help us quote quickly:
- How we drive in and where we can park
- The address or venue name
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- The date and time of the event
A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you’re ready, drop us a line using the enquiry form.
Tips for a smooth bar
To get the most from the bar, it helps to:
- Check how alcohol will be licensed at your venue
- Add food if the bar runs for a while
- Tell us how many guests are under 18
- Think about how guests get home
We set up the bar before guests arrive.
More bar staff for larger crowds.
Events we cater in Telegraph Hill
Alcohol-free guests get more than squash.
We cater all kinds of occasions in Telegraph Hill and nearby. Some of the most common are:
- Big birthday celebrations
- Client events and launches
- Garden get-togethers
- End-of-year parties
If the service is at a church such as St Catherine's Hatcham, the bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.
Before booking anyone
- A food hygiene rating you can check
- The deadline for final numbers
- Plates and napkins, or nothing at all
- Space, access, power and water needs
Before you choose a spot
Every venue is different, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:
- The venue’s permission for an outside bar
- Vehicle access near the bar
- A bar spot away from homes
In Telegraph Hill, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before you book.
