Mexican bar hire near Watermead

FAQs for Watermead

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St James?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Is Watermead close to London?

About 38 miles from central London, and we cover it.

How much space do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, plus the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

Is there something for non-drinkers?

Every bar has alcohol-free choices, from aguas frescas to soft drinks.

Are plates and napkins included?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates go first, so it pays to ask early.

Do you check ages at the bar?

Responsible serving comes first: alcohol-free drinks for under-18s, with water and alcohol-free choices on hand.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food.

Mexican bar hire in Watermead, from our food truck or trailer

The margarita is the star of the bar: tequila, lime and orange liqueur over ice, with or without a salted rim. It works well for staff parties and engagement celebrations, serving agua de jamaica, aguas frescas and horchata.

Around Watermead, a drinks bar suits garden parties and village-hall celebrations, with access for the truck or trailer. Aguas frescas and soft drinks cover guests who are not drinking alcohol. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

Planning the serving area

We’ll be honest if a space won’t work, and help find another spot. What matters most:

  • A clear area in front of the bar
  • Power and water arrangements, confirmed with each booking
  • The right licence for alcohol: the venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

Popular choices

  • Agua de jamaica (hibiscus)
  • Margaritas
  • Mexican beer
  • Soft drinks
  • Horchata
  • Fruit aguas frescas

How it works

Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. By late September, sunset in Watermead comes at roughly 7:05pm, so margaritas after that will be served under lights. A late-May event keeps its daylight until about 8:55pm.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We talk licensing through with you.
  3. You choose the drinks with us.
  4. We serve drinks responsibly on the day.
  5. We pack down when the bar closes.

Preparing for the day

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Let us know the timings for the day

Organising for someone else?

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

How it compares

Leaving guests to bring their own is easy but unpredictable. A bar gives every guest a drink in hand, including non-drinkers. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.

What you get with us

  • Allergen information for every dish
  • A truck or trailer that comes to you
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests

Should I do it myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

How we price Mexican bar hire

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • What’s on the menu
  • Food, drinks or both
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Whether you need disposables

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for Mexican bar hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

What we need to know

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • The address or venue name
  • Expected numbers
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The date and rough timings

Not sure what you need yet? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll make suggestions. To start, send us your details through our quote form.

Planning drinks for every guest

A few tips to help the bar run smoothly:

  • Tell us when the bar should open and close
  • Ensure there’s water for guests
  • Check how alcohol will be licensed at your venue
  • Allow time for a Temporary Event Notice if one is needed

We set up the bar before guests arrive.

Pair the bar with tacos, burritos and nachos.
