Your questions about Mexican street food in Shide

Could you come to a seaside event near Shide?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades usually need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

Is it possible to have you in Seaclose Park?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Can you plan for allergies?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

How spicy is the food?

We can keep it mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

Do you need electricity?

It depends on the event and the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

Are plates and napkins included?

We confirm that with your quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables and we’ll talk it through.

Can we book you as a trader?

Tell us about the event, dates and pitch, and we’ll check availability.

Is the food made fresh?

Food is cooked to order in our truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

How it works

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. Christmas markets in Shide trade in the dark from about 4:00pm, so site lighting matters for traders and visitors alike. By contrast, a midsummer fair stays light until about 9:20pm.

  1. Tell us about the event and pitch.
  2. We send our menu, needs and the documents you ask for.
  3. We arrive and set up at the agreed time.
  4. We serve to order through the event.
  5. We clear and leave the pitch clean.

How to prepare

  • Tell us when you want service to start
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Find out what power and water are available

How to get a price

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you are ready, use our quote form.

Can I do a taco night myself?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Mexican street food or something else?

Not every trader covers vegans and coeliacs. We can serve vegan fillings and corn tortillas. A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there is no kitchen to hire. Ask us for a quote.

Why us?
