How Mexican catering works in PO37
Mobile Mexican catering means the kitchen comes to you: we park our food truck or trailer on site and serve hot food from it. You do not need a kitchen at the venue. It works well for family celebrations and staff parties and office lunches, with a build-your-own taco bar, loaded nachos and fresh salsas and guacamole.
We arrive in good time before service, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. Guests come up to order when service opens.
- Send us your date, numbers and venue.
- Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
- We confirm the way in and where we will park.
- Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
- We clear our serving area when everyone is fed.
Cost
What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so share your ideas with us. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Around Shanklin
Your event could be close to Sandown Bay Academy, The Falcon pub and St. Paul's Church and the streets around them. There is a railway station in Shanklin itself: Shanklin station, handy for guests travelling by train. Nearby you’ll also find South Wight (2.4 miles south-west) and Arthur Webster Memorial Hospital for Children (under half a mile north). Green spaces nearby include Alverstone Mead and St Boniface Down.
Planning a food truck in PO37
There are 3 towns and 1 villages and hamlets in PO37, so whether your event is in Sandown, Shanklin and Lake or a quiet village, the approach is the same: a level, firm spot, a way in and agreed timings. Around 4 places in PO37 are close to the coast, so we often plan around the wind at coastal events.
Shanklin: If people are travelling in by rail, Shanklin has its own station, Shanklin station. Historic houses near Shanklin include Rylstone Manor (within half a mile south) and Haseley Manor (3.2 miles north-west). Venues like these often limit where vehicles can go, so ask about access before booking one. Winter evenings in Shanklin close in by about 4:00pm, so a well-lit spot for the queue makes a big difference. In late June, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.
Working with your venue
If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.
If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

How we price Mexican catering
These are the factors that matter most:
- What the venue already provides
- How long we’re needed on site
- Food, drinks or both
- How many staff you need
Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.
What to tell us
You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:
- A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
- The date and time of the event
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
- Where the event is
Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.
Catering for every guest
Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:
- Flag anyone with coeliac disease
- Tell us what other food is being served
- Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
- Include at least one vegan filling
We arrive early enough to set up calmly. All we need is someone to show us the agreed spot.
Margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can be added from our drinks bar.
Space, access and the venue
The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We look for:
- Hardstanding or firm, level ground to park on
- Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
- Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book
PO37 questions
Can you cater for special diets?

Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared.
Do you provide plates and napkins?
We confirm that with your quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.
Do you cater for vegetarian guests?
Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote, and we’ll keep their options separate.
What space do you need?

What does Mexican catering cost?
We quote for each event, based on what you actually need. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.
Can you cater for children?
