Taco bar hire for Birch Hill events

Taco bar hire in Birch Hill, served fresh

Taco bars suit wedding breakfasts, parties and office lunches alike. Guests build their plates quickly, so a crowd moves through steadily, and nobody waits long. For company parties and wedding meals, we will put together a menu of pickled onions and toppings, burrito bowls and guacamole for your guests.

Around Birch Hill, a taco bar can stand beside our truck on a drive or lawn. If the truck cannot reach the garden, we park as close as we can and set the station up where your guests are, as long as we can unload within a short walk. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

The process

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our food truck or trailer, and serve without fuss. Winter evenings in Birch Hill close in by about 3:55pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. In late June, the light holds until around 9:25pm.

  1. Send us your date, where the taco bar will go, numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We plan the fillings and toppings with you and quote for them.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. After the last tacos, we clear the station away.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Ask the venue about power and water

Getting a price

Planning help

Birch Hill: your questions answered

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Michael and St Mary Magdalene's Church?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How far is Birch Hill from central London?

Roughly 29 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not generally stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and tell us if heavy rain could make the ground soft.

What do you need at the venue?

Tell us about the venue and the spot you have in mind, and we’ll check it works. We also need the venue’s permission.

Do you cook on site?

We cook to order in our truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we’ll confirm what’s included with your quote.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We clear our own area when service is finished. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

Can guests build tacos at a wedding breakfast?

It can serve the wedding meal, the evening or both. Timings are agreed with you and your venue, and guests build their own plates.

About the menu

Hot fillings

A few fillings give guests plenty of choice. We agree them with you.

Vegan fillings

Black bean and sweet potato, or spiced mushrooms, cooked separately.

Space, access and the venue

We will be honest if a space will not work, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:

  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book
  • Space for a serving table on level ground
  • Room for the bar alongside the vehicle, if booked together

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

Menu ideas

  • Tortilla chips
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Two to four fillings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole

What affects the price in Birch Hill

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • Whether you need disposables
  • Guest numbers
  • How long we are needed on site

Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Details that help

These details help us quote quickly:

  • The venue or postcode
  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • The date and rough timings

The quickest way to a quote is to send a quick message through our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll suggest a menu to suit.

Organising for someone else?

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Dietary needs and planning tips

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email
  • Have anyone with a severe allergy speak to us first

A covered spot keeps the bar and guests dry if it rains.

Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.
