How our taco bar hire works in Caulcott

Fillings are agreed with you, perhaps carnitas, chicken tinga or birria, with a vegan filling like black bean and sweet potato or spiced mushroom. On the menu are warm corn and flour tortillas, guacamole and burrito bowls, which works well for garden parties and barn and marquee parties.

For a rural spot like Caulcott, a taco bar beside the truck in a field or garden is a simple set-up. Tell us about gates, ground and the distance from the lane, and we confirm power and water arrangements before the day. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so set-up goes smoothly.

The process

We get there well before you want to serve, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Planning an evening taco bar in Caulcott? Sunset is around 9:00pm in late May, 9:30pm at midsummer and 7:10pm in late September. After dusk, lights over the station help guests build their tacos.

  1. Share a few details about the event.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar menu and a quote.
  3. Access, power and water are agreed beforehand.
  4. We set up the station and keep everything hot.
  5. At the end, we take everything away.

Getting ready for the day

What taco bar hire costs

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • How many guests we are serving
  • Serving staff
  • The length of service
  • Distance and access to the venue

Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • The address or venue name
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Your menu ideas

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.

Comparing your options

Buffet trays can go cold and tired. Our fillings stay hot and the bowls are topped up as guests come back. Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

Why book with us

  • Options for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests
  • A quote that sets out what’s included
  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Fast service, even with a queue

Your questions about taco bar hire in Caulcott

We’re having a ceremony at Heyford Park Chapel: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Which station is closest to Caulcott?

The closest is Heyford station, roughly 1.6 miles away.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

We can. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from. Read our taco bar guide.

How does a taco bar work?

A serving table is laid with warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and each guest builds their own. Our staff keep it hot and topped up.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

What’s on the menu?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. A drinks bar is available too.

How long do you serve for?

We get there well before service to set up. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Ask us when you enquire. Tell us what your venue provides, and we’ll set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Catering for every guest

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because options can be kept separate. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Make sure one filling is vegan
  • Have tables and seats ready for guests to eat at
  • Ask the venue where we can park to unload
  • Count children separately

After the last plate, we take the bar down and leave the spot tidy.

Ask us whether a second station would help with big numbers, quoted for your event.

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.
