Taco bar hire near Cocking

Taco bar hire in Cocking, served fresh

Our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we will plan the taco bar around them. For team socials and birthday celebrations, we’ll put together a menu of warm corn and flour tortillas, a build-your-own taco bar and guacamole for your guests.

For a rural spot like Cocking, a taco bar beside the truck in a field or garden is a simple set-up. Tell us about gates, ground and the distance from the lane, and we’ll confirm power and water with you. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our food truck or trailer.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

A standard buffet often sits out cold. We keep the fillings hot and refill the dishes through service. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

What you get with us

  • Catering across West Sussex, including Cocking
  • A clear quote
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both

See our prices page or the cost guide.

How it works

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. Around midsummer it stays light in Cocking until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so an outdoor taco bar in summer is generally served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Start with your date, venue and guest numbers.
  2. We plan the fillings, salsas and toppings with you.
  3. The venue confirms where the bar goes and where we park.
  4. On the day, guests help themselves while we keep the bar stocked.
  5. We clear the bar away after service.

Preparing for the day

  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Give us a contact for the day

A build-your-own taco bar in Cocking

Cocking is about 8 miles north of Chichester, in West Sussex. We bring taco bar hire to homes, gardens and venues in Cocking. We serve in all 371 towns and villages in West Sussex, from the larger towns to small villages. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Cocking to Chichester (8 miles away).

Nearby historic houses include Cowdray House (2.6 miles north) and West Dean House (3.3 miles south). If your event is at a historic house or estate, ask early whether a staffed taco bar is allowed and where we could unload. Cocking is within about 3 miles of the South Downs National Park, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles cannot reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by.

Space, access and the venue

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • A parking or loading spot near the serving area
  • Cover overhead if the bar is outdoors
  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

Menu ideas

  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Two to four fillings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Tortilla chips
  • Pickled onions and toppings

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

FAQs for Cocking

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Catherine of Siena Church?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you come to events in the South Downs National Park?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Who clears up?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Tell us the venue’s rules on waste and clearing up and we’ll confirm the arrangements with your quote.

How does taco bar hire work?

We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings on a serving table, and each guest builds their own. We stay to keep everything hot and stocked.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

It depends on the event and the timings. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.

Is the food very hot?

The food can be kept mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

Can you plan for allergies?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.

Working with your venue

If you are booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Make sure one filling is vegan
  • Count children separately
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Set out seating near the bar

A covered spot keeps the bar and guests dry if it rains, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

A wider range of salsas suits guests who like it mild and those who like it hot.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
