Taco bar hire for your event in Cookham Dean

With a taco bar, everything is laid out in one place: tortillas kept warm, fillings kept hot, and bowls of salsa, guacamole and toppings. Guests pick up a plate and build their own. It works well for leaving and retirement parties and staff parties, serving burrito bowls, guacamole and pickled onions and toppings.

Near Cookham Dean, a marquee or barn makes a good home for a taco bar. Our staff set up the station and run it through service. We will check the space, access and power with you before the day, so set-up goes smoothly.

Organising for someone else?

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

Catering for every guest

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Put guests with serious allergies in touch with us early
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email
  • Fit the bar into your running order

A covered spot keeps the bar and guests dry if it rains, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

Our truck or trailer can serve later in the day, after the taco bar, quoted with the rest.

Taco bar hire or something else?

Pizza is a safe choice, but a taco bar lets every guest design their own plate. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.

Why book with us

  • Menus for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • A truck or trailer that comes to you
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue

The process

Here’s how the day usually runs: we arrive and set up, service opens at the agreed time, and your guests are served fresh for the agreed time. In Cookham Dean, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so an outdoor taco bar in summer is usually served in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
  3. We agree where the table goes and where our vehicle can unload.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park

Questions from Cookham Dean

How far is Cookham Dean from central London?

It is about 28 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St John the Baptist: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. UK law requires caterers to provide information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

How many guests can a taco bar serve?

It depends on the event and the timings. Most bookings fall around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.

Do you need electricity?

It depends on the event and the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

How much is a food truck for an event?

We quote for each event, based on what you actually need. Tell us your date and numbers and we’ll reply with a quote.

Can you come to a private house?

Yes, as long as there is access and a level, firm spot. Tell us about the drive, gates and any slopes, and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

What areas do you cover?

We cover London and the South East, Windsor and Maidenhead included. See all areas.

What we need at the venue

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:

  • Cover overhead if the bar is outdoors
  • A clear area in front of the station
  • Space for a serving table on level ground

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

What we offer

  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Two to four fillings
  • Tortilla chips
  • Vegan fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
