How our taco bar hire works in Four Elms

The bar can stand beside our food truck or trailer, or on its own. Where a vehicle cannot reach the serving spot, we unload nearby and set the table up there, as long as the venue agrees. Popular choices include a build-your-own taco bar, fresh salsas and guacamole, and it’s a good fit for barn parties and wedding meals.

Near Four Elms, a marquee or barn makes a good home for a taco bar. We set up the station and our team runs it; tell us about access and parking. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our food truck or trailer.

Step by step

A typical event goes like this: we park up and get ready, we open the hatch when you’re ready, and your guests are served fresh for the agreed time. Around midsummer it stays light in Four Elms until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Start with your date, venue and guest numbers.
  2. We plan the fillings, salsas and toppings with you.
  3. The venue confirms where the bar goes and where we park.
  4. On the day, guests help themselves while we keep the bar stocked.
  5. We clear the bar away after service.

Getting ready for the day

Four Elms questions

Is Four Elms close to London?

It’s about 21 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Congregational Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

What’s on the menu?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms.

Do you cover Four Elms?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, and Four Elms is within our area and the rest of Kent. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.

How much is a taco bar?

We do not publish set prices, as each booking is different. Send us your details and we will quote for your event. See what Mexican catering costs for background.

Can you plan for allergies?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Ask us when you enquire. Tell us what your venue provides, and we will confirm what’s included with your quote.

Should I do it myself?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

For planners, venues and organisers

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Before you choose a spot

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but a few things matter:

  • A flat spot for the taco-bar station
  • Details of power and water near the bar
  • Space beside the truck or trailer if you are booking both

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly.

Popular choices

  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Tortilla chips
  • Vegan fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings

Dietary needs and planning tips

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Include a vegan filling on the bar
  • Pick the spot for the taco bar in advance
  • Collect dietary needs with your replies
  • Ensure guests have somewhere to sit

Indoors or under cover, the bar carries on whatever the weather, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

Tell us if you need plates and cutlery and we’ll set out the options in your quote.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

Plated meals depend on a kitchen and a team of waiting staff. For a taco bar, we need a serving spot, a nearby place to unload and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we’ll set out what’s included.

What you get with us

  • Service planned around your numbers
  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Events in Four Elms and across Kent
  • A menu built around your guests
