Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Flag any guest with coeliac disease
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email
  • Plan the taco bar around speeches and timings

Fillings are kept hot and tortillas warmed in batches.

Tell us if you need plates and cutlery and we’ll confirm what’s possible in your quote.

Taco bar hire in Hambledon, from our truck or trailer

A taco bar suits mixed diets well, because every filling and topping sits in its own dish. There are vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free choices, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests, plus allergen information for every dish. For marquee parties and family get-togethers, we will put together a menu of burrito bowls, fresh salsas and pickled onions and toppings.

Near Hambledon, a taco bar next to the truck in a field or garden works well. Tell us about gates, ground and the distance from the lane, and we will confirm power and water with you. Guests are served from our truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

The process

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. Winter evenings in Hambledon close in by about 3:55pm, so set the station up where the lighting is good. In late June, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. We suggest fillings, salsas and toppings for the bar and send a quote.
  3. We agree where the table goes and where our vehicle can unload.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. When service finishes, we clear the table and pack the vehicle.

Before we arrive

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Ask the venue about power and water

About the menu

Vegan fillings

Vegan guests get a proper filling of their own, not an afterthought.

Hot fillings

A few fillings give guests plenty of choice, with at least one vegan. We agree them with you.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

Pizza is the usual crowd-pleaser, but a taco bar gives guests more say over what they eat. What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so share your ideas with us. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Hambledon questions

Do you cater in villages like Hambledon?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Hambledon Church?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Do you do parties at home?

That depends on access. If the truck or trailer cannot reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Send us a picture and we’ll talk it through.

Do you cover Hambledon?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, and Hambledon is within our area and the rest of Surrey. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

Do you need power and water?

That depends on the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

What do you serve?

Mexican street food: tacos and build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Let us know your numbers and space and we will recommend how to serve.

Is the taco bar staffed?

We set up and stay to keep the bar hot and stocked through service.

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • The number of people
  • Whether you need disposables
  • Parking and the route in

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Your quote confirms the full price.

What to tell us

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • The address or venue name
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Send us the date, your venue or GU8 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, tell us about it on our contact page.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Organising for someone else?

Organising a club, school or community event in Hambledon? A truck or trailer serves a crowd quickly, with options for most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.
