Taco bar hire for Hiltingbury events

DIY taco night or a caterer?

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label anything containing allergens.

Taco bar hire in Hiltingbury, from our food truck or trailer

You choose the fillings with us, such as pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, with a vegan filling like black bean and sweet potato or spiced mushroom. For back-garden gatherings and barn parties, we’ll put together a menu of warm corn and flour tortillas, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and guacamole.

In a smaller place like Hiltingbury, a taco bar in your garden or a local hall keeps things simple. We set up and run the station, and guests choose their own fillings and toppings. Let us know about the drive and parking. You’ll know what’s included before you book: menu, timings and any add-ons.

What affects the price in Hiltingbury

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Serving staff
  • How many guests we are serving
  • How long we’re needed on site

Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.

What to tell us

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • The address or venue name

The quickest way to a quote is to send a quick message through our quote form. Tell us about your event in Hiltingbury, and we’ll suggest a menu to suit.

For planners, venues and organisers

Organising a club, school or community event in Hiltingbury? Service from a truck or trailer is quick, even for a crowd, and the menu can suit most diets. Give us the details and we’ll suggest a plan.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

Taco bar hire or something else?

The difference between a taco bar and truck service is who builds the taco. At the hatch, we make each order; at the bar, guests build their own. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Why us?

  • A clear quote
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • A menu built around your guests
  • Menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests

What happens on the day

Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. In Hiltingbury, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 4:00pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Send us your date, where the taco bar will go, numbers and dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. On the day our staff lay out the bar and keep it stocked while guests build their tacos.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site

Roughly 66 miles from the centre of London.

Which station is closest to Hiltingbury?

Guests can use Chandlers Ford station, about 1 mile south of Hiltingbury.

What happens if it rains?

Rain doesn’t typically stop service from the truck or trailer. Plan cover for guests, such as a marquee or gazebo, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Do you cook on site?

We slow-cook fillings ahead, then finish them and keep them hot at your event. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Is the taco bar staffed?

We set up and stay to keep the bar hot and stocked through service.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

We confirm that with your quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.

What if a vehicle cannot reach the serving spot?

The taco bar can sit next to the truck or trailer, or in a spot of its own. Either way, we need to unload nearby and have the venue’s permission.

What areas do you cover?

We cater across London and the South East, including Hampshire. See all areas.
