Taco bar hire in Mortlake, served fresh
The toppings are where guests get creative: pickled onions, coriander, lime, shredded lettuce and cheese, agreed with you in advance. For summer garden parties and wedding meals, we’ll put together a menu of slow-cooked fillings kept hot, a build-your-own taco bar and burrito bowls.
Around Mortlake, a taco bar suits venues and gardens that a food truck can’t get into. We set up a station staffed by our team, where guests build their own tacos. We still have to unload nearby, so let us know about loading, permits and parking. Like all of Greater London, Mortlake is inside the ULEZ. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

What we need at the venue
Everything is served from our truck or trailer, so where we park matters. These are the things we check:
- Space beside the truck or trailer if you’re booking both
- Power and water, which we confirm when you book
- A clear route from the vehicle to the serving spot
In Mortlake, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.
Menu ideas
- Corn and flour tortillas
- Pickled onions and toppings
- Vegan fillings
- Tortilla chips
- Two to four fillings
- Salsas and guacamole
Organising for someone else?
Throwing a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about access, and we will let you know if it is a good fit.
For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.
FAQs for Mortlake
Our venue in Mortlake has no vehicle access: can we still have a taco bar?
Typically, if the venue agrees to a staffed station. We still need somewhere close by to unload, and in London that may mean a loading bay or a parking suspension.
Can you bring your truck or trailer to Palewell Park?
Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.
How much does taco bar hire cost?
We do not publish set prices, as each booking is different. Send us your details and we will quote for your event. See what Mexican catering costs for background.
How soon do we need to book?
The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.
Do you do a taco bar?
We can. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from. Read our taco bar guide.
Is there a minimum number of guests?
Our truck and trailer service generally suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Send us your numbers and we will advise.
Do you cover Mortlake?
We do. Mortlake is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.
Can you cater in a back garden?
It depends on access. If the truck or trailer can’t reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Send us a photo and we’ll talk it through.

Planning for every diet
A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:
- Confirm any allergies to us by email
- Confirm a loading spot close to the bar
- Plan the taco bar around speeches and timings
- Agree the serving spot with your venue early
If speeches or timings run over, we keep the fillings hot and start when you are ready.
Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.

Should I do it myself?
Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

The process
When service finishes, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. In Mortlake, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan good lighting over the station.
- Send us the date, venue and numbers.
- We plan the fillings, salsas and toppings with you.
- We confirm the table spot and where we’ll unload.
- On the day, guests help themselves while we keep the bar stocked.
- When everyone has eaten, we pack up.
Preparing for the day
- Ask the venue about power and water
- Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
- Give us your final numbers and diets
