Taco bar hire in Normandy

Planning the serving area

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but a few things matter:

  • Space for a line of guests at the bar
  • Shelter from rain and sun for an outdoor bar
  • A clear route from the vehicle to the serving spot

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Menu ideas

  • Vegan fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Two to four fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Tortilla chips

Taco bar hire for your event in Normandy

We run the taco bar ourselves: keeping the fillings hot, warming tortillas and topping up the bowls. Your hosts can stay with their guests. For engagement and anniversary parties and marquee parties, we will put together a menu of fresh salsas, guacamole and a build-your-own taco bar for your guests.

Somewhere as small as Normandy, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If the truck cannot get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, though we still need to unload within a short walk. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

How it works

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. Daylight in Normandy runs to about 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September. Let us know if an outdoor station will run after dark, and we will talk about lighting.

  1. Tell us about your event and your guests.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar menu and a quote.
  3. Access, power and water are agreed beforehand.
  4. We set up the station and keep everything hot.
  5. Afterwards, we pack down and leave the area tidy.

Getting ready for the day

  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain

Planning for every diet

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Include a vegan filling on the bar
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to contact us before the day
  • Tell us when guests should eat

Indoors or under cover, the bar carries on whatever the weather, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

Our truck or trailer can serve later in the day, after the taco bar.

What affects the price in Normandy

The price comes down to a few factors:

  • How long we are needed on site
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Guest numbers

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Getting an accurate quote

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you are ready, use our quote form.

How it compares

For a meal that’s hands-on for guests but not for you, a taco bar suits events well. Larger events can cost less per head, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why us?

  • Events in Normandy and across Surrey
  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer
  • Book food, drinks or both
  • A menu built around your guests

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Normandy: your questions answered

Could you set up a taco bar in a hall near Normandy?

We can, as long as the venue agrees. The station needs room for a queue, and we need to park and unload close to the door.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Mark?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Send us the reception address.

How much is a taco bar?

We quote for each taco bar, based on numbers, fillings, the venue and timings. Contact us for a quote.

How long do you serve for?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. Serving times are agreed with you in advance, along with pack-down.

Do you give allergen information?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, with allergen information for every dish. We plan carefully and keep options separate, though we can’t promise a dish is allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

What happens if it rains?

We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It is worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll suggest mild options.

Do you need power and water?

Tell us what the site has, such as a supply from the venue near where we’ll park, and we’ll confirm what we need with your quote.

Events we cater in Normandy

Building your own is quick, so a crowd is fed at a steady pace, which suits a wedding breakfast or a lunch break.

These are some of the occasions we serve in Normandy and Surrey:

  • Back-garden gatherings
  • Office lunches
  • Engagement and anniversary parties
  • Leaving dos

When the service is at a church such as Church of St Mark, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.

  • The deposit and payment dates
  • Whether VAT is included
  • What happens if it rains
