Should I do it myself?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

Taco bar hire for your event in Over Wallop

Mixed diets are simple at a taco bar, as fillings and toppings are kept in separate dishes. We plan gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan choices, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests, plus allergen information for every dish. At marquee parties and back-garden gatherings, we will put together a menu of a build-your-own taco bar, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and pickled onions and toppings and more.

For a rural spot like Over Wallop, a taco bar beside the truck in a field or garden is a simple set-up. Let us know about the gate, the ground and the route in, and we confirm power and water arrangements before the day. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

What happens on the day

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can enjoy your event. In Over Wallop, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so an outdoor taco bar in summer is normally served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Begin with the date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. We fix timings with you and the venue.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.
