Taco bar hire for your event in Passfield

A taco bar suits mixed diets well, because every filling and topping sits in its own dish. We plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free choices, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. It suits working lunches and barn and marquee parties, serving pickled onions and toppings, guacamole and fresh salsas.

Near Passfield, a marquee or barn makes a good home for a taco bar. We set up the station and our team runs it. Guests are served from our truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

Passfield questions

Can the taco bar go in a local hall rather than outside?

Yes, with the venue’s permission. Tell us about the parking, the doors and the space for the station.

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will go through the licensing with you.

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. If the truck or trailer cannot reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Tell us about the space and we’ll advise.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Can guests build tacos at a wedding breakfast?

The taco bar can be the wedding breakfast, the evening food or both. Timings are agreed with you and your venue.

How is the food prepared?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

Planning the serving area

Before the day, we will agree where we park and serve. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • A spot next to the truck or trailer when both are booked
  • A parking or loading spot near the serving area
  • Shelter from rain and sun for an outdoor bar

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

Menu ideas

  • Vegan fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings
  • Tortilla chips

Planners, venues and businesses

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Step by step

Serving is quick: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. A December taco bar in Passfield will be in the dark from about 4:00pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Get in touch with your date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. Once service is over, we pack away.

Getting ready for the day
