How our taco bar hire works in Peasmarsh

The toppings are where guests get creative: pickled onions, coriander, lime, shredded lettuce and cheese. At barn parties and leaving and retirement parties, we can serve fresh salsas, a build-your-own taco bar and burrito bowls.

Somewhere as small as Peasmarsh, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If the truck can’t get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, though we still need to unload within a short walk. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • Guest numbers
  • Whether you need disposables
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • What’s on the menu

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. Every event gets its own quote.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • The date and time of the event
  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • Roughly how many adults and children

We quote for each event separately, based on what you need. For a quote, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Catering for every guest

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Count children separately
  • Make sure one filling is vegan
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Send us allergy details in writing

Indoors or under cover, the bar carries on whatever the weather, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

For larger groups, ask about a second serving point.

Questions from Peasmarsh

Do you set up taco bars indoors in places like Peasmarsh?

We can, as long as the venue agrees. The station needs room for a queue, and we need to park and unload close to the door.

Do you cater in villages like Peasmarsh?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

Do you cover Peasmarsh?

We do. Peasmarsh is one of the places we cover. Tell us your date and we will check availability.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect, and we’ll keep their options separate.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Who clears up?

We clear our own area when service is finished. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

Do you stay to run the taco bar?

We run the station ourselves, so you do not need helpers. We pack it away afterwards.

How big an event can you cater?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

How it compares

The difference between a taco bar and truck service is who builds the taco. At the hatch, we make each order; at the taco bar, guests do the building. Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

Why book Mobile Mexican Catering in Peasmarsh

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

What we need at the venue

Many gardens, fields and venues can take a truck or trailer, but there are a few things to check:

  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book
  • Space for a line of guests at the bar
  • Shelter from rain and sun for an outdoor bar

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.

Step by step

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. In Peasmarsh, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Get in touch with your date and headcount.
  2. We agree a menu that covers every diet.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. The bar opens at the agreed time.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.

Before we arrive

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve

Taco bars for events around Peasmarsh

Peasmarsh is about 9 miles north-east of Hastings, in East Sussex. Anywhere in TN31, we can bring the truck or trailer to you. We cater in 289 places across East Sussex. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Peasmarsh to Maidstone (21 miles away).

Close to Peasmarsh are historic houses such as Lamb House (2.5 miles south-east) and Smallhythe Place (4.6 miles north). Historic venues often limit where vehicles can go, so ask whether a taco bar station could be set up inside while our truck or trailer parks further off. After a christening or wedding at a church such as The Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, a taco bar at a hall or garden nearby lets guests build their own tacos. With the sea within about 3 miles, a taco bar at a coastal venue is an option. Open toppings and a sea breeze do not mix, so a sheltered or indoor spot is best.

We cover events in every part of TN31 and the streets around it. Streets in the area include Main Street, Farleys Way and The Maltings, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. For events just outside Peasmarsh, we cover Flackley Ash (1 mile north-west), Beckley (2 miles north-west), Cock Marling (2 miles south), Udimore (3 miles south-west) and Broadland Row (3 miles south-west). Within a short drive, we also cover Hastings (9 miles south-west), Bexhill-on-Sea (13 miles south-west), St Leonards (10 miles south-west), Hastings Old Town (9 miles south-west), Belmont (9 miles south-west) and Hollington (9 miles south-west).

Well-known places in the area include Ypres Tower (2.6 miles south-east) and Rye Castle Museum (East Street) (2.5 miles south-east). Open spaces near Peasmarsh include Flatropers Wood.

  • Local schools include Rye College (2.2 miles south-east)
